Tuberculosis Disease TB

All SUNY Geneseo incoming students complete an online tuberculosis (TB) screening via the secure electronic health portal, to determine if they are at high risk for tuberculosis. This is key to implement target testing. Screening and testing supports our strategy to control and prevent infection in our campus community and the surrounding public community.

  • All/any YES responses will require records as proof of tuberculosis testing.
  • Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) result laboratory report is REQUIRED for those born outside the United States, have had BCG vaccination(s), or have had a history of a positive skin test result.
    • A skin test (PPD) is appropriate EXCEPT for the student that was born outside the United States, has had BCG vaccination(s), or has had a history of a positive skin test result, they must submit a laboratory.

The Campus Community Resources Nurse (CCRN) maintains oversight of the TB Program and collaborates with the local Department of Health Tuberculosis Program Coordinator as needed. This screening was created using the following resources: CDC.gov; Who.int; ACHA.org
