Superior Single Rooms -- Jones Hall

Note:  This web page -- and all other Housing Selection 2014 web pages -- are designed for students who are already taking classes at SUNY Geneseo.  If you are an incoming student looking for information about residence hall housing, kindly refer to the written correspondence which you received from the Admissions Office.

We are pleased to announce that, for the 2014 - 2015 school year, students will be able to choose single rooms in Jones Hall.  Jones Hall will no longer be reserved exclusively for first-year students -- single rooms in Jones Hall will be available for current Geneseo students.

What is a "superior single" room?

A "superior single" room is essentially a traditional double room in which only 1 student lives.  All superior single rooms will be furnished with 1 set of furniture (e.g., 1 bed, 1 desk, 1 dresser, etc.).  Students who choose superior single rooms are guaranteed to live in their rooms without a roommate.

What is the cost of a superior single room?

Students who choose superior single rooms in Jones Hall will be charged $3995.00/semester for their housing.  Meal plans are not included in this cost.

How many superior single rooms will be available?

All A-section rooms in Jones Hall, aside from those reserved for R.A.s, will be available as superior single rooms.  This amounts to 35 possible superior single rooms.

How can I choose a superior single room in Jones Hall for 2014 - 2015?

If you happen to be interested in this option, you can simply choose a room in Jones Hall during your designated Housing Selection date and time.  (Refer to Step 4: Choose Your Housing.)  You will not need to submit any type of special application; your Residential License Agreement Form (RLAF) will be sufficient.
