Symplicity Residence Housing Software

Q:  What is Symplicity?

A:  Symplicity is a company which produces and supports software programs for colleges and universities like Geneseo.  We decided to invest in Symplicity's housing software, which is called Residence.  Through Symplicity Residence, you will be able to complete housing applications, search for available rooms and suites, and ultimately select the exact room or suite in which you want to live for 2013 - 2014.

Q:  How can I access Symplicity?

A:  Visit http://go.geneseo.edu/symplicity.  You will be prompted to enter your Geneseo username and password.

Q:  Who will be using Symplicity Residence to determine their housing for next year?

A:  Any student who wishes to live in a traditional suite (Allegany, Erie, Genesee, Ontario, Wyoming, Nassau) or corridor-style setting (Livingston, Steuben, Monroe, Niagara) next year will use Symplicity Residence to choose their living space online.

Note:  Selection processes for townhouses, EcoHouse, Writers House, and Gender-Neutral Housing will be conducted in person, not through the Symplicity Residence system.

Q:  When will the Symplicity Residence system be ready for me?

A:  We plan to fully launch Residence on Friday, February 15.  The housing application will be available for you to complete online by Monday, February 18.

Q:  Will I be informed about how to use Symplicity Residence to select my housing for next year?

A:  This software system will be new to us, too, but we are committed to helping you understand how to use Symplicity Residence in whatever ways possible.  Look for event announcements as well as written materials as Housing Selection approaches.
