How to Donate to Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

The Livingston CARES mission includes helping with disaster relief and recovery efforts locally, regionally, statewide, nationally, and worldwide. We are watching and reading about the devastation and deaths caused by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. As of Friday, February 10th, the major media networks are reporting over 21,000 (and climbing) deaths. 

In response to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, we are collecting donations to help advance the recovery efforts and immediate needs of those impacted. The dollars collected will help humanitarians and disaster relief organizations serving individuals, families, and communities impacted by the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

We are careful stewards of these funds, and as with all donations to CARES, your donation is tax-deductible.

Red Crescent 

The Red Crescent is providing on-the-ground assistance in the earthquake regions, similar to the work of the American Red Cross. The Red Crescent donation site allows you to specifically donate to the disaster responses in Turkey and Syria.

International Committee of the Red Cross

The Internation Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) includes the Red Cresent (see above). However, the ICRC is focused on providing on-the-ground assistance in Syria.

The World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need.
