SUNY Geneseo has created a new School of Arts and Sciences comprising 18 departments across disciplines, including the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

SUNY Geneseo has rearticulated its mission and value statements as part of its strategic planning process.

SUNY Geneseo now offers a Black Humanities course made possible in part due to a grant from the Modern Language Association.

Geneseo's Milne Library has been named the Academic Library of the Year by Rochester Regional Library Council. Milne was chosen from libraries within a five-county region, including Monroe and Livingston.

Interim Assistant Provost for Curriculum and Assessment Bill Harrison has taken the lead managing a software purchase and implementation project that will automate the curriculum management and catalog process, saving the College both time and money. 

A hallmark of Geneseo is its strong sense of community. In that regard, providing a variety of student support services can make all the difference to students who are struggling to meet demanding academic standards in their classes and labs. 

A key focus in Geneseo’s strategic plan centers on resilience and sustainability. Accordingly, the Office of Communications and Marketing is charged with continuously assessing and addressing the external world and key audiences’ perceptions of the College.

Geneseo is continuing to implement the highest priority (Phase I) action items that were identified in the Geneseo 2021 Strategic Plan. Out of a pool of $1 million dollars identified to advance those items, $350,000 was directed to time-sensitive student recruitment efforts.

$60,000 in funding for a Center for Integrative Learning will support efforts in the planning, professional development, and organizational design of a Center for Integrative Learning, anticipated to be in place by fall 2018.

Geneseo is continuing to implement the highest priority (Phase I) action items that were identified in the Geneseo 2021 Strategic Plan. As communicated by President Battles last fall, several of these action items required not only focused time and effort to achieve, but an investment of funds.
