CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR APRIL 8-14

THURSDAY, APRIL 8:

CONCERT: The School of Performing Arts presents the Geneseo Jazz Ensemble with Jonathan Kruger and David Gibson directing. 8 p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Free and open to the public.

FILM: The International Film Series presents the film "El crimen del padre Amaro" (The Crime of Padre Amaro). The film is in Spanish with English subtitles. When Father Amaro is sent to a new parish, he finds a haven of corruption, crime and sex — and sinful temptation too strong to resist. The discussant will be History Professor David Tamarin. 7 p.m., International Cinema Center, Guy A. Bailey Hall Auditorium (135). Free and open to the public.

LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery, William A. Brodie Hall, presents the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit. The gallery is open daily from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, April 23.

OPUS GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Opus Gallery, Robert W. MacVittie College Union, presents an exhibit by Mariel Velano. The gallery is open daily from 1-5 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, April 16.

PLAY: The School of Performing Arts and GENseng present "Falling Flowers," by Jeany Park, a dramatic play about the Korean "comfort women" who were forced to serve as sex slaves to the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II. The play will be directed by Randy Kaplan. 7:30 p.m., Robert Sinclair Theatre, William A. Brodie Hall. Admission at the door is $4 and proceeds will be donated to Sharing House in Seoul, South Korea, a group home where victims live together and receive counseling.

SPORTS: Women’s Lacrosse vs. Elmira. 4 p.m., Saratoga Field. Free and open to the public.

LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: (See Thursday, April 8).

LOCKHART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House at 26 Main St., Geneseo, presents "A Study of Lightness, Proximity and Function" by Dan DeZarn, assistant professor at SUNY Geneseo. The exhibit will feature multimedia, installation-based sculptures that emphasize process and materials. The gallery is open daily from 2-5 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. There will be an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, April 30.
