Fall Semester Meal Plan Credit
For students who are not returning to Campus after Thanksgiving for the reminder of the fall semester and have requested a meal plan refund, a credit in the amount of your remaining balance of your meal plan and flex accounts will be posted to your student account no later than December 31, 2020. Credit adjustments will first be used to offset any current outstanding balance. Any resulting refund will be issued to the student.
- Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for direct deposit to expedite the refund. Instructions are available on the Student Accounts website. Paper checks take longer to process and are expected to be issued by the end of the semester (for students not enrolled in direct deposit).
For students who will be returning to Campus after Thanksgiving for the fall semester and those off-campus who requested to keep their meal plan after Thanksgiving, standard meal plan rules will apply. Students may roll over up to $50 of remaining funds of an on-campus meal plan and up to $25 of remaining funds of an off-campus meal plan to their new spring semester meal plan. No credits or refunds will be issued in accordance with NYS sales tax guidelines.
If a student is not returning to on-campus housing in the spring semester, their meal plan charge will be removed from their student account when they are released from their housing assignment. If a student wishes to purchase an off-campus meal plan at that point, they may do so by adding that option to their spring semester bill on the Student Accounts website.
For detailed information on all credits and refunds, please see a copy of the email sent by Vice President Julie Buehler on September 29, 2020. If you did not respond to this form, please contact student accounts (email@example.com), CAS (firstname.lastname@example.org), and residence life (email@example.com) no later than November 25 to notify all departments of your refund request or to notify of changes to your plans.

Coming to Fraser this fall, the 1871 Café. Established in 1871, SUNY Geneseo has always been known for its exceptional education, staff, and atmosphere, so it's no surprise that our new dining location lives up to that same set of standards. Get your morning coffees, teas, and treats from our space in Fraser Hall.
We are excited to announce our Starbucks remodel. In order to better serve and keep up with an increased demand for Starbucks products, the location has moved into what was Fusion Market with a complete renovation. The expansion allows for additional spacing needs for our staff to serve our customers better and allows for additional product offerings and seating. This expansion enables us to keep up with the growing demand for Starbucks and allow for Fusion Market's diverse offerings to be dispersed throughout campus while adding another concept to the Union.
Other Dining Updates
- While Fusion Market may be closed, your favorite dishes are still on campus! Head to Mary Jemison to find your favorite items from Clio's at the deli, and our Lotus and Asada stations!
- Our chefs have created a variety of different grab-and-go options to make dining with us a breeze. Stop by Max Market, Mary Jemison, or Jacks to pick up a meal or two that can be brought back to your dorm for a leisurely breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Big Tree Inn
After careful consideration, due to factors related to the pandemic and continued financial losses, we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily suspend restaurant and tavern operations at the Big Tree Inn at the close of August 22nd, extending through the remainder of 2020. This remains a fluid situation, and circumstances may change; we will closely monitor factors that would permit a full return to operations, including guidance from the Governor.
The hotel will remain operational, we will continue to host events, and we will be happy to discuss how we can provide catering services to you. Please be assured that existing reservations will be honored, and new reservations are welcome.
Please contact Jonna Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org or Erin Geiger at email@example.com or 585-243-5220 with any questions you may have concerning this announcement. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time, and we look forward to reopening and serving you in our restaurant and tavern again soon!

CAS will be working with our service provider to upgrade our cable television service to HD quality on 80 channels. We are excited to announce that it will also be possible to live-stream 72 of those channels after the upgrade. This means you do not have to have a TV to watch your favorite shows, and anyone connected to the campus network will be able to use the new service! Because of the upgrade, there will be a television service interruption on Tuesday, September 22nd starting at 8:00 a.m. that may last through the 23rd. If you plan to use your TV still, you will need to rescan your television to receive the new lineup after the upgrades have been made. Unfortunately, HBO is not available to us as part of this upgrade. We regret any inconvenience, and appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation!
All RTS bus drivers are taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Each guest, along with the driver, must wear masks while on the bus, and seating has been marked indicating where people can sit. The driver cleans in between each ride to ensure optimal safety. The RTS bus is currently running at 50% capacity, so be aware of that when planning your ride.
