Christopher Prusak was appointed Chief of the University Police Department (UPD) at Geneseo in May 2020. The Chief oversees all operational aspects of the department, including the uniformed patrol operations, investigations and administrative components, including parking and transportation.
Prusak came to SUNY Geneseo as the Assistant Chief in 2018 after 16 years with the University Police at the University at Albany. Prusak holds a master's in business administration from the University at Albany, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Excelsior College, an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Monroe Community College, an associate’s degree in munitions systems technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He is also a member of the New York Air National Guard, serving as a Logistics Officer with the 109th Airlift Wing.
Chief Prusak’s training includes: Crisis Intervention Team and Advanced Crisis Intervention Team, Accreditation Manager, Public Information Officer, FBI LEEDA - Supervisor, Command and Executive Institutes, Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor, Firearms Instructor and General Topics Instructor.

Scott Ewanow was appointed Assistant Chief of Police of the University Police Department (UPD) at Geneseo in July 2020. He started his career with the College in 2010 as a police officer. Ewanow was promoted to Lieutenant in 2014 and Inspector in 2018. Prior to his time at the College, he served three years as a police officer at the College at Cortland. The Assistant Chief of Police oversees patrol operations and emergency response planning. He also serves as the Chair of the Board for Geneseo First Response.
Assistant Chief Ewanow holds a bachelor's degree in history with initial certification in secondary education from SUNY Geneseo. In addition, he is a 2019 graduate of Session 275 of the FBI National Academy where he earned a graduate certificate in criminal justice education from the University of Virginia.
Through the New York State Department of Criminal Justice, Ewanow is a certified to instruct: General Topics, Ethical Awareness, Firearms/Use of Force, Reality Based Training and Active Shooter Response.
