RAVE Guardian Safety App

SUNY Geneseo has enhanced its current blue light system by launching Geneseo Guardian (powered by Rave Guardian), a free mobile app that turns your smartphone into a personal safety device.

“The app can directly connect you to University Police (or 9-1-1 if off-campus) in an emergency situation and gives you the ability to submit an anonymous tip to University Police should you see something suspicious,” said Chief of University Police at Geneseo in announcing the new option.

By downloading the app on your mobile phone, you can also invite friends and family to join your network as your “Guardians.” You can then request one or more of your Guardians to virtually walk with you on or off campus. It’s like having an emergency blue light system and a trusted friend with you at all times.

University Police encourages all students, faculty and staff to heighten their personal safety and the safety of their friends by downloading the free app.  Simply search “Rave Guardian” in the app store on your mobile device.
