Residence Hall Visitation Guidelines

Guests and Visitation

SUNY Geneseo’s COVID-19 infection rate has been low and compliance with protocols high. As a result, residents will receive full visitation privileges. Residents may have non-student friends or family members visit your residence hall and room. Visitors and guests must follow guidelines in place at the time of their visit.

Please keep in mind that the College will continue to evaluate residence hall visitation based on the number of positive COVID-19 cases and violations of residence hall policy and student conduct. Should either increase, visitation opportunities will return to the guidelines set in place at the beginning of the semester.

Visitation is a privilege and subject to the guidelines in the Residential LicenseResidents may host a guest in their residence hall (including room and common areas) under these conditions:

  • Guests will be allowed within individual suites/rooms only with the consent of all assigned residents.
  • Guests to a residence hall, whether a SUNY Geneseo student or not, must be accompanied by the resident host at all times.
  • Residents may host overnight visitors no more than three nights per month.

This visitation policy will remain in place through the remainder of the Fall 2022 semester unless otherwise notified.

Depending on campus metrics (number of COVID-19 cases) the Guest/Visitation Policy will shift to allow more permissions or to remove them.
