Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs committee meets every week via zoom at 7:30 on Tuesday and is geared toward helping academic clubs put on events. Each academic department has a rep that they send to the meeting to give updates and vote on club proposals. Members are selected by the E-board via, an application interested students admit. We also hold a couple of events that are at the discretion of the e-board, and are generally open to the public.

Alpha Phi Omega

As a co-ed service fraternity (a descendant of Boy Scouts of America), we work to provide service to four areas; the community, the campus, the organization, and the nation. We have three main pillars of leadership, friendship, and service. We work to create leaders and be friends with all of our brothers in the organization.

Alpha Kappa Phi

Alpha Kappa Phi was established in 1885 as the Alpha Chapter of the Agonian Sorority. We strive to uphold our core values through sisterhood, create life-long friendships, and prioritize scholarship. One of our mission statements reads "One step at a time, but always forward", we implement this by always encouraging sisters to be the best version of themselves. Our purpose shall also be to fundraise for charities we deem necessary to strengthen our relationships within the community. Our main charity event is our annual haunted house that occurs in October. All proceeds are donated to Bivona Child Advocacy Center located in Rochester, New York. We use our sorority house to transform it into walk-though haunted house and welcome the Geneseo community to attend our event.

We host events related to peaceful resolution of conflict, environmentalism, nuclear proliferation, and more. Out goals are to: TRAIN students to be effective social advocates and grassroots organizers. EDUCATE young people on peace and justice issues, while keeping students informed on recent peace-related news and events. EMPOWER students to campaign for action and policies that will help our communities and our world become a safer, more peaceful place. CONNECT students to a larger community of young and professional activists who share a similar interest for peace and conflict resolution.

Chemistry Club

Chem Club plans to lead the community through chemistry and the practice of safety. We want to show people how impactful chemistry can be in our everyday lives. Oftentimes people are intimidated by the subject and think it's only for those who are geniuses or some believe chemistry is boring and too much work. We want to show that chemistry is for everyone regardless of major or academic status. We are constantly in contact with chemistry all the time such as brushing our teeth or cooking. We want to show people that you do not need to be afraid of the subject and there is community where you can come and learn about it safely without judgement. Also, it is not at all boring and it is totally worth it. Especially when you like to tie-dye, color your hair, paint, and more. Chemistry is for EVERYONE!

English Immersion Group

English Immersion Group is a club meant to bring native and non-native English speakers together in a safe, comfortable, and casual setting. It is not meant to be a class but rather a fun, interactive environment for students to practice their English skills, talk about pop culture, and make friends. We play games, watch videos, have discussions, and more! Anyone and everyone is welcome.
