Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

History Club at Geneseo

We meet weekly and regularly discuss "This Day in History," as well as historical connections to current events. Additionally, we have recently incorporated more game & trivia nights, all historically themed (i.e. Jeopardy, Family Feud-style history games). This coming year, we plan on diversifying our events even more, taking trips, collaborating with professors, etc.

Geneseo Club Soccer

We participate in the club soccer league that plays competitive matches against other colleges across NYS in the fall. We also practice multiple times a week during the fall and hold some sessions in the gym during the winter.

Crew Club at Geneseo

The purpose of the Geneseo Crew Club is to provide undergraduate matriculated SUNY Geneseo students the opportunity to actively compete at the collegiate and club levels in the sport of rowing.

Pre-Veterinary Club

The Vet club allows students an outlet to learn and expand outside of the classroom. With limited available resources on campus, the club allows students ways to gain experience and knowledge by connecting students with experts in Geneseo and the surrounding community. These include connections to nearby farms where students may gain professional relationships and experiences in the veterinary field, connections to small animal practices in Monroe and Livingston County, and other methods of connecting to animals in the real world. The club contributes in giving back to the community through multiple volunteer activities such as club run fundraisers and assisting with organizational benefits such as Barktoberfest at Lollypop farm.

English Immersion Group

EIG hosts weekly meetings that initiate cross-cultural discussion and provide opportunities for English Language Learners to practice speaking skills. Through presentations, games, and group discussions members exchange ideas and learn about American society and culture as well as other cultures. When possible, collaborative events with other cultural clubs and/or larger events hosted by the club are meant to increase connections within the group and with the larger camus community.

Geology Club

We are going to be a group that allows geology majors and non-majors an opportunity to mingle with others who are interested in the environment and want to learn more about it. Some of our activities will include having discussions inspired by different geologic features, going on field trips, hosting picnics with the department, playing a role in advising future scheduling for underclassmen, creating rockin' art and more.

Running Club

The purpose of Geneseo Running Club is to provide a supportive environment for runners of all levels to meet and run together to promote stronger physical and mental health. Various fundraisers will be held throughout the year, to raise money for any club-related costs or to donate to charity. Members will have the option to compete in local 5k road races throughout the semester.

Women's Rugby Club at Geneseo

We have a focus on teamwork on the field and off the field. Women’s Rugby Club at Geneseo does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, disability, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, or sexual orientation.

Women's Club Volleyball

The purpose of this organization is to create a team of athletes interested in playing volleyball above the intramural level. Our club is split into three groups depending on skill and commitment. Groups have 1-2 practices a week and tournament team travels to about 4 tournaments a semester. We also participate in community service events including events that we host and others such as Relay for Life. In addition to playing volleyball we try to have a few team bonding events each semester for members to get to know each other better and build relationships outside of the sport.

Ultimate Frisbee Team

The Men's and Women's Ultimate Frisbee team allows anyone who is interested in ultimate to give it a try. There are no cuts, so everyone is welcome to attend practices. In the fall, we hold practices Monday, Wednesday and Fridays on Letch Field.
