Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

La Casa Hispánica

Spanish Club provides a safe and inclusive environment for students and welcomes all levels of Spanish. No Spanish language background is necessary to join the club because meetings are officiated in English. We hold fun events based on the culture, language, holidays, and all the amazing things about Spanish-speaking countries.

Great Outdoors Club

Great Outdoors Club at Geneseo strives to provide an easy way for students to experience the great outdoors and network with other outdoor enthusiasts. The club aims to inform its members of the outdoor opportunities in Livingston County and the surrounding areas. Members will learn safe ways to experience the wilderness. Members will be challenged both physically and mentally, while developing new skills useful for both daily life and outdoor adventures. GOC will promote awareness and appreciation for the outdoors, and be an advocate for the significance and protection of the wilderness.

MiNT Magazine

Each semester, MiNT will accept submissions from the student body for writing and art, which we will review as a club. Then, with the accepted submissions, we will create a literary magazine that will be distributed to the student body. We also publish everything on our website and hold a launch party where people can read their writing and talk about their art.

History Club

History Club's purpose is to encourage the pursuit of historical research and interest, to provide an understanding of current events through an understanding of their historical basis, and to provide an opportunity for students to share their historical interests through lectures, discussions, and trips. Some of our events include game nights, trivia, movie nights, historical or current event discussions, collaborations with professors, Peer Advisement, and more!

Men's Club Soccer

We are a student-run on-campus organization that gets students together to get touches on the ball multiple times a week. In addition, we will compete with other local colleges against their club teams. Our goal is simply to have fun and play soccer. We aim to create a positive and inclusive environment for students looking to continue sharing a passion for the game.

Crew Club

Rowing programs are a quintessential aspect of the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities. Founded in 1990 by former professor Dr. John B. Hoey, our program has grown considerably in size and competitive nature. Throughout the campus and local community, Geneseo crew is recognized for its disciplined athletes, philanthropy, and as its community of tight-knit students. Athletes who row as a part of Geneseo Crew develop beneficial life skills and habits which often lead students to academic success and life fulfillment. Our program consists of two teams, both Men and Women, whom are comprised of a novice and varsity team. Throughout our fall and spring competitive seasons, we compete in regattas from Canada to Pennsylvania. Our club has the opportunity to race against a multitude of other collegiate teams, both larger and smaller than our own. Geneseo Crew takes pride in our ability to rise to the challenge of competing at such a high level at these regattas. Our athletes consistently improve physically and technically as a result of their hard work and determination. Our team welcomes all levels of experience! For more information about practice times, expectations, or if you would like to join the team, contact us at our email.

Pre-Veterinary Club

As a student on the pre-veterinary medicine track, this club will help you prepare for the veterinary school application process. This club contains members of all years, and eboard positions are available after your first semester on the club. Our meetings focus on informing members of the application process and coaching them to be comfortable with it, as well as being taught small, large, and exotic animal case studies and animal behavior by veterinarians and animal workers. As a club we also try to host a few different events throughout the semester such as equine clinics, dairy farm tours, sanitation talks, and pet-palooza.

Philosophy Club

The philosophy club is for anyone on campus who wishes to partake in that week’s discussion. We aim to be inclusive and welcoming to all viewpoints and topics.

English Immersion Group

EIG hosts weekly meetings that initiate cross-cultural discussion and provide opportunities for English Language Learners to practice speaking skills. Through presentations, games, and group discussions members exchange ideas and learn about American society and culture as well as other cultures. When possible, collaborative events with other cultural clubs and/or larger events hosted by the club are meant to increase connections within the group and with the larger camus community.

Geology Club

The Geneseo Geology club is an academic club. All geosciences majors get notifications for upcoming events, but anyone can participate and get notifications through our Instagram page. Events include: outdoor get-togethers, hikes, fossil/mineral shows, sustainability/climate awareness events, etc. Our mission is to promote interest in the geosciences through geology-related events and allow any student interested in geology to meet like-minded people.
