Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs committee meets every week via zoom at 7:30 on Tuesday and is geared toward helping academic clubs put on events. Each academic department has a rep that they send to the meeting to give updates and vote on club proposals. Members are selected by the E-board via, an application interested students admit. We also hold a couple of events that are at the discretion of the e-board, and are generally open to the public.

Geneseo Biology Club

Our mission as a club is to give all students interested in biology and related sciences an opportunity to increase their knowledge and enjoyment of these subjects, and to promote a greater appreciation of these subjects within the college community. Activities include apparel sales, fall and spring picnics, fall and spring trip as well as guest lectures. This year, we will not be able to host the usual picnics due to COVID however we plan on coming up with other events.

Circus Club

We meet to teach and encourage ourselves and others to learn, practice, and experience new circus acts and performances. Common only these are juggling, flow arts like poi and hula hoops, and other things like the diablo, card tricks, yo-yo, tarot, and other events. If someone has interest in a circus style hobby and we can safely explore it we are always willing to expand to new types.

Chemistry Club

Chem Club plans to lead the community through chemistry and the practice of safety. We want to show people how impactful chemistry can be in our everyday lives. Oftentimes people are intimidated by the subject and think it's only for those who are geniuses or some believe chemistry is boring and too much work. We want to show that chemistry is for everyone regardless of major or academic status. We are constantly in contact with chemistry all the time such as brushing our teeth or cooking. We want to show people that you do not need to be afraid of the subject and there is community where you can come and learn about it safely without judgement. Also, it is not at all boring and it is totally worth it. Especially when you like to tie-dye, color your hair, paint, and more. Chemistry is for EVERYONE!
