Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Young Children's Council

The Young Children's Council aims to connect students with the community and educate its members on the field of education through guest speakers, community outreach programs and peer communications. Bi-weekly meetings provides members with opportunities to connect with local students through our pen pal program and story time events. Additionally, members are invited to attend guest speaker events that include School of Education faculty and other organizations brought in to expose members additional areas of education.

Elementary and Secondary Education Association

ESEA is an academic club that provides education majors with opportunities to explore careers in the teaching profession, to become involved in volunteering and tutoring opportunities in the community, to communicate between faculty and students, to increase awareness of educational issues as well as work to improve the quality of teacher education programs at SUNY Geneseo.

Knightline Dance Team

Knightline is the official dance team at SUNY Geneseo. We perform fast paced jazz routines that incorporate a kickline at Men's and Women's home basketball, hockey, and soccer games. We also perform at various events on campus such as Relay for Life. We are well networked with other campus organizations and are a close knit group that have formed an unbreakable bond. Routines are choreographed by the team captains and the team is advised by Jody DeLoria, an adjunct professor in the dance department. We hold auditions every fall semester.

The Speaking Project

We have weekly meetings where one individual will give a major speech/presentation and be evaluated by a peer. We then discuss the evaluation in order to point out things the speaker did well, whether the answered the prompt, and what are some things they could work on. We aim to have a safe and comfortable environment where the speaker has the opportunity to grow and prosper in public speaking. No individual is forced to do a major speech if they do not want to. They are more than welcome to just come sit and listen to the advise that is given.
