Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Fishing Club at Geneseo

The main goal of the Fishing Club at Geneseo is to share the sport of fishing as well as proper fishery conservation practices with as many people as we can. We love to fish, and we want to foster that love of the sport in others.

Hips 'n Harmony

The purpose of this organization is to provide all women identifying students of SUNY Geneseo with an outlet to express themselves through a student run vocal ensemble. We perform with the other 4 a cappella groups at least 2 times per semester in big concerts. We perform at gigs for other schools and at Geneseo. We are a student-run organization.

Phi Kappa Pi

Clio was founded in 1872 and is Geneseo's oldest sorority. Our colors are gold and white and our flower is the beautiful daisy. As a tight-knit a loyal organization, we uphold our long-standing traditions with pride. Clios are more than sorority sisters. We're a family of best friends celebrating, doing charity, and sharing a bond that exists beyond the college years.

Running Club

The purpose of Geneseo Running Club is to provide a supportive environment for runners of all levels to meet and run together to promote stronger physical and mental health. Various fundraisers will be held throughout the year, to raise money for any club-related costs or to donate to charity. Members will have the option to compete in local 5k road races throughout the semester.

Alpha Omega Pi

AOPi is a local sorority that was founded in 1985. We are an extremely tight-knit group that is very unique in our own ways. Each sister makes their own mark in AOPi as we are always trying to better ourselves as sisters. AOPi is a place of leadership and encourages girls to get involved and share their passions with the rest of the sorority through those positions of leadership. While we do have an annual philanthropic event, “Making Strides”, a breast cancer awareness walk in Rochester, we are always listening to our sister’s ideas about different organizations to support. We pride ourselves on our ability to lend a helping hand to any sister in need or to any charity our sisters are passionate about. We are located at 7 University and have one of the coolest houses on campus.

American Red Cross Club

We run the blood drives on campus, twice a semester (they are usually held in the interfaith center or the union). We hold monthly meetings, to go over blood drives and listen to speakers. We also run a fundraiser once a year, we have done pass-by tables and pieing events in the past. Mission Statement: The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Our purpose is to try to get our community to donate as much blood as possible so we can help as many people as possible in the Rochester area.

Neuroscience Club

The purpose of this organization is to provide space for students to connect via a shared interest in the field of Neuroscience. Members will work together to plan and host enrichment events such as course-schedule planning, Neuroscience on-campus research lab recruitment, recent Geneseo grad panels, and fundraising events with funds being donated to various organizations.

Alpha Phi Omega

As a co-ed service fraternity (a descendant of Boy Scouts of America), we work to provide service to four areas; the community, the campus, the organization, and the nation. We have three main pillars of leadership, friendship, and service. We work to create leaders and be friends with all of our brothers in the organization.

Alpha Kappa Phi

Alpha Kappa Phi was established in 1885 as the Alpha Chapter of the Agonian Sorority. We strive to uphold our core values through sisterhood, create life-long friendships, and prioritize scholarship. One of our mission statements reads "One step at a time, but always forward", we implement this by always encouraging sisters to be the best version of themselves. Our purpose shall also be to fundraise for charities we deem necessary to strengthen our relationships within the community. Our main charity event is our annual haunted house that occurs in October. All proceeds are donated to Bivona Child Advocacy Center located in Rochester, New York. We use our sorority house to transform it into walk-though haunted house and welcome the Geneseo community to attend our event.

Partners in Health Engage

Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty, Partners In Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.
