Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Fishing Club

The mission of Fishing Club is to bring the opportunity of fishing to those that attend SUNY Geneseo. The club will offer opportunities to interested students to get more information on where and how to fish, to earn or build on the hobby of fishing, and provide a welcoming environment to discuss fishing. The club will hold non-mandatory weekly meetings to get together and discuss recent fishing events and plan future events. These meeting will also allow members to meet friends and to catch up on recent fishing. The club will also do one event a semester to help the local watershed. These events could range from fundraising to volunteering. All proceeds will be donated to local conservation groups.

Hips 'n Harmony

The purpose of this organization is to provide all female identifying students of SUNY Geneseo with an outlet to express themselves through a student run vocal ensemble. Composed of many talented females, Hips ‘n Harmony acts as a dedicated philanthropical group which donates many of its proceeds to charity. Founded in 1997 by Maureen Mullaney and Mary Rose Bayer, Hips is a traveling group of passionate musicians that sings a broad variety of music in a wide array of venues.

Phi Kappa Pi

"We, members of the Alpha Clionian Fraternity, do solemnly affirm that we will maintain an unfaltering allegiance to this constitution and we will further strive to maintain its moral, social, and fraternal obligations, and constantly endeavor to improve ourselves and our fraternity." We strive to make it easier each year for our members to access the help they need from one another to focus on our academics, and get any help we need with them. Each semester we also do a variety of donations to different fundraiser around campus, or to different people. For example, in the past we have individually donated to a Fraternity Brother's older brother's memorial page, as well as a Go-Fund-Me account set up for my own nephew battling Pediatric Brain Cancer, we well as things like Crows Deep Freeze, or anything else around campus. Along with that, each December we host a Christmas Party for children of Migrant Families at the IFC with our fraternity brothers, Delta Kappa Tau, inviting the children to spend the morning with us for activities, lunch, as well as gifts they may not otherwise receive.

Running Club

The purpose of Geneseo Running Club is to provide a supportive environment for runners of all levels to meet and run together to promote stronger physical and mental health. Various fundraisers will be held throughout the year, to raise money for any club-related costs or to donate to charity. Members will have the option to compete in local 5k road races throughout the semester.

Alpha Phi Omega

Largest student organization on campus with over 150 active members. We act under the three leading principles of leadership, friendship, and service. In the words of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." We rush in the spring and the fall and have open membership; anyone who completes our rush requirements gets a bid and can join our organization. We do thousands of hours both on and off campus every semester.

Partners in Health Engage

Partners in Health Engage is the collegiate level of the national organization "Partners in Health". We are very active on campus promoting equal opportunities for the access of healthcare no matter one's race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. One of our main events during the school year is Songs in Solidarity held in the spring semester where all proceeds are donated towards a cause. Previous years we have raised money for mothers in Lesotho and tuberculosis. Involvement in this organization is great if you are interested in pursuing public health, international relations, social justice, women's health, etc. We have engaging discussions during each meeting and learn about various public health issues that PIH helps tackle.
