Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures. 

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Mock Trial Club

The purpose of the Mock Trial team will not only be to provide practice for those students interested in pursuing careers in the legal field, but also to improve the public speaking and analytical skills of any Geneseo student interested therein, in a social environment. We compete in local and regional competitions run by the American Mock Trial Association.

The Speaking Project

A safe and relaxing environment where students can come to practice speaking in front of others. Every meeting someone will do a speech and we will have an evaluator to help point out pros and cons of the speech. In addition, we will do impromptus every meeting, however, no one is forced to participate it is all on a volunteer bases.

Anime Club of Geneseo

Anime Club of Geneseo aims to provide a welcoming environment for students to explore and bond over a shared interest in anime and Japanese culture. Through our events and meetings we hope to draw in like-minded students to create a sense of community and uphold Geneseo's values of openness and inclusivity. Events like our Cosplay Karaoke Night has been known to draw in an upwards of fifty students and draws people from outside the Anime Club as well as our sister clubs (Nerf and GAGG).

Club Softball

The purpose of this organization is to create a group that students of all skill levels can join to participate in a competitive softball environment. This will enrich the learning experience by creating a community where students with similar interests can come together and share their passion.

Knightline Dance Team

Knightline's purpose is to entertain and perform at sporting events as well as to provide a welcoming, positive, and safe environment to our team members in order to build strong relationships and to grow together as a team. Along with performances, we perform at other organizations benefits and Relay for Life, host a Relay for Life benefit to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, and participate in/ host our own fundraisers. Routines are choreographed by team captains, and the team is advised by Jody Deloria, an adjunct professor in the dance department here at Geneseo. Knightline also holds many opportunities for building communication and leadership skills. We hold tryouts every fall.

Ski Team at Geneseo

To allow students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in a competitive ski environment. Competitive skiing provides a challenging and life long experience. This organization will be a positive representative of the college on local, state and national levels.

Sapphire Winter Guard at Geneseo

The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment where students can learn flag spinning, rifle spinning, and basic dance techniques, no matter their level of experience. The ultimate goal of the organization is to represent Geneseo in competition in the North East Color Guard Circuit. The organization will also be available for special performance at sporting events and other campus activities to show school spirit and support.

Emmelodics All Gender A Cappella

Emmelodics is an all gender a cappella founded on the basis of creating a larger and more inclusive a cappella community. Emmelodics aims to perform a wide range of musical genres. Its emphasis on group cohesiveness, flexibility in performance, enhancing vocal abilities. Emmelodics aspires to help foster the “rich co-curricular environment” that the State University of New York at Geneseo strives to maintain as a recognized center of excellence and liberal arts institution.

Fishing Club

The mission of Fishing Club is to bring the opportunity of fishing to those that attend SUNY Geneseo. The club will offer opportunities to interested students to get more information on where and how to fish, to earn or build on the hobby of fishing, and provide a welcoming environment to discuss fishing. The club will hold non-mandatory weekly meetings to get together and discuss recent fishing events and plan future events. These meeting will also allow members to meet friends and to catch up on recent fishing. The club will also do one event a semester to help the local watershed. These events could range from fundraising to volunteering. All proceeds will be donated to local conservation groups.

Wrestling Club

The purpose of this club is to promote folkstyle wrestling, competitive and casual, by holding practices and attending competitions while maintaining a safe and sportsmanlike environment. We try to practice approximately 3 times per week, and will seek out scrimmages and competitions based on the ability and intent of our members
