Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Programming and Data Science Club

The Programming and Data Science Club of SUNY Geneseo offers a fun and educational environment for students and community members alike to pursue their interests in computer science, data science, and technology. Our club also functions as a resource for students that need help learning any of the programming languages that they'll find in their classes at Geneseo. As a club, we've traveled to different computing/data competitions across New York and done very well. We've received awards and praise from HackUpstate, Google, and the American Statistical Association at their DataFest competition. Some of the club's goals include spreading the wealth of computing knowledge to the Geneseo community, continuing to do well at these regional competitions, and getting more community members interested in the exciting and useful world of computer and data science.

National Panhellenic Council

The organization facilitates spring national recruitment every year, sets campus total for incoming new member classes, oversees national constitution and bylaws, holds meetings with representatives from each national sorority, collects dues from national chapters.

Original Xpressions (OGX)

The OGX Dance Team’s purpose is to extend our love for dance to the Geneseo campus and community. Our intentions are to welcome students who don’t exactly fit in with modern and contemporary movements. We feel that the OGX Dance Team will offer another style of dance that will allow students not only from the urban areas of New York but including students of every culture to appreciate dance. The OGX Dance Team would like to perform at events hosted by Geneseo clubs such as talent shows, cultural dinners, Relay For Life, Geneseo Great Day. We host our own events and workshops throughout the school year. We partake in WOW and GLK programming. We also host a Spring Dance Showcase in which we portray our talents and host other Culture clubs or outside teams. We like to host activities in which we promote being active and traveling to nearby to spread our love for urban and cultural dancing. The purpose of the organization is consistent with the mission of the College.

Council for Exceptional Children

The Council for Exceptional Children is a national organization with professional and student chapters across the country. CEC is an organization that provides activities and programming for people of all ages with special needs as well as gifted and talented individuals. CEC also offers community awareness programs. The organization offers many opportunities for volunteers to work with children, families, and adults in the community.

Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs committee meets every week via zoom at 7:30 on Tuesday and is geared toward helping academic clubs put on events. Each academic department has a rep that they send to the meeting to give updates and vote on club proposals. Members are selected by the E-board via, an application interested students admit. We also hold a couple of events that are at the discretion of the e-board, and are generally open to the public.

Student Association

The Student Association (SA) is the Undergraduate Student Government serviced to enhance the undergraduate student experience. SA supports numerous student clubs/organizations and is responsible for the allocation of funds, resources, and personnel to various student-focused services and programs. SA is comprised of standing and special committees that serve as advocacy and programming bodies. Further, SA amplifies and represents the student voice through recommendations to Geneseo administration.
