Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures. 

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Cheerleading Team at Geneseo

The cheerleading team creates routines which incorporate dances, tumbling, cheering techniques and stunting, which meets the current NCAA Collegiate Cheerleading safety guidelines and will compete the routines at multiple intercollegiate competitions each season. Geneseo cheerleading will also represent and to promote school spirit at various SUNY Geneseo sporting events consisting mainly of, but not limited to, SUNY Geneseo Men’s Basketball games.

Knightline Dance Team

Knightline's purpose is to entertain and perform at sporting events as well as to provide a welcoming, positive, and safe environment to our team members in order to build strong relationships and to grow together as a team. Along with performances, we perform at other organizations benefits and Relay for Life, host a Relay for Life benefit to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, and participate in/ host our own fundraisers. Routines are choreographed by team captains, and the team is advised by Jody Deloria, an adjunct professor in the dance department here at Geneseo. Knightline also holds many opportunities for building communication and leadership skills. We hold tryouts every fall.

Sapphire Winter Guard at Geneseo

The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment where students can learn flag spinning, rifle spinning, and basic dance techniques, no matter their level of experience. The ultimate goal of the organization is to represent Geneseo in competition in the North East Color Guard Circuit. The organization will also be available for special performance at sporting events and other campus activities to show school spirit and support.

Colleges Against Cancer

Colleges Against Cancer promotes cancer awareness and fundraises money for the American Cancer Society. The money raised go towards cancer research, maintaining a 24/7 hotline, wigs, free stays at Hope Lodges, transportation to treatment, and so much more.

Wrestling Club

The purpose of this club is to promote folkstyle wrestling, competitive and casual, by holding practices and attending competitions while maintaining a safe and sportsmanlike environment. We try to practice approximately 3 times per week, and will seek out scrimmages and competitions based on the ability and intent of our members

Crew Club at Geneseo

The purpose of the Geneseo Crew Club is to provide undergraduate matriculated SUNY Geneseo students the opportunity to actively compete at the collegiate and club levels in the sport of rowing.

Women's Club Volleyball

The purpose of this organization is to create a team of athletes interested in playing volleyball above the intramural level. Our club is split into three groups depending on skill and commitment. Groups have 1-2 practices a week and tournament team travels to about 4 tournaments a semester. We also participate in community service events including events that we host and others such as Relay for Life. In addition to playing volleyball we try to have a few team bonding events each semester for members to get to know each other better and build relationships outside of the sport.

Men's Rugby Club

Our Purpose: The Men’s Rugby team is devoted to learning and playing the sport of Rugby. We are all players and coaches and our goal is to perform at the highest level every game. We are also devoted to being an asset to the community of Geneseo both on-campus and off-campus.

Friends of Recreation, Conservation, and Environmental Stewardship

The FORCES program and name is defined by several of the elements below: \n\nFRIENDS \nStudents and community members seeking new and interesting experiences, with a willingness to help improve their local parks and historic sites \n\nRECREATION \nThis "force" contributes to patron education on different forms of and ways to recreate; improvement projects and maintenance that enhance hiking and sporting activities in NYS parks. It also reflects the philosophy that patrons who participate in recreational activities are more likely to appreciate and want to protect the environments where they take place. \n\nCONSERVATION \nAt FORCES we also focus our efforts on conserving and protecting the rich heritage and culture found in NYS historic sites and other unique areas. \n\nENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP \nIn addition, FORCES directly involves environmental projects and education that benefit the parks. Educational and environmental projects include invasive species management, plant and wildlife protection, water quality assessment and trail improvement. \nb. The purpose of the organization is consistent with SUNY Geneseo’s core values of service, community, integrity, innovation, diversity, academic excellence, and tradition.
