Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

SUNY Geneseo Chapter of the Council for Exceptional ChildrenThe Council for Exceptional Children is a national organization with professional and student chapters across the country. CEC is an organization that provides activities and programming for people of all ages with special needs as well as gifted and talented individuals. CEC also offers community awareness programs. The organization offers many opportunities for volunteers to work with children, families, and adults in the community.

Sigma Tau DeltaSigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, has over 900 active chapters both in the United States and abroad. Sigma Tau Delta's goals are to promote and improve all aspects of the English discipline, promote literacy, and provide members a sense of community. Becoming a member of the Geneseo chapter confers the distinction of achievement in the area of English Literature and Creative Writing. We aim to foster community through literature, language, and writing. We also want to promote literacy and service-learning by volunteering with groups whose mission we share in. Finally, we want our students to be examples of academic excellence, good character, and citizenship. Every year, we devote our efforts to initiatives that promote literacy and learning in our community. Some of these commitments we devote ourselves to for just one year, but many of them we revisit each year due to their high rate of success and engagement. Some of these initiatives include volunteering with the annual Rochester Children’s Book Festival; helping members receive funding and prepare their work to present at the national Sigma Tau Delta Convention; running book exchanges; collecting presents during the holidays for families in need; dominating to and raising awareness of a variety of charities whole goals align with our values; and more!

Gestures: Organization for Deaf AwarenessGestures: Organization for Deaf Awareness is a club devoted to educating students, faculty, and members of the community about Deaf culture and American Sign Language. A portion of each meeting will be devoted to teaching American Sign Language at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, or the levels required to meet the knowledge and demands of the club's members. The club will strive to bring members into contact with members of the Deaf community, either by hosting guest speakers during club meetings or making members aware of events in the Deaf community they may attend or otherwise participate in. Once a semester the club will organize an ASL Knight, an event which will be open to the general student body, faculty, and other members of the community who express interest in attending.

Voices for Planned ParenthoodVoices for Planned Parenthood at Geneseo is an organization on campus which seeks to educate students about issues surrounding reproductive justice, and raise awareness about the mission of Planned Parenthood. We hold weekly general meetings, open to any student, that focus on different topics regarding reproductive justice. Past meeting topics have included sex education around the country, the history of Planned Parenthood, and different methods of birth control. We also hold efforts each semester to fundraise for Planned Parenthood such as tabling in the union. In the spring semester, we hold our annual Sexy Egg hunt, which is an event where students learn about safe-sex practices surrounding sex toys and have the opportunity to win prizes related to sexual health and pleasure.

American Cancer SocietyA worldwide voluntary organization that is committed to raising money for cancer treatments, research, and patients, and helping to educate people on all the effects of cancer and the specifics. Schools, universities, churches, and other organizations participate in a Relay for Life event. This event helps raise money for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life lets people become more educated. We remember those who are still fighting, those who have passed but not forgotten, and those who have won the battle against cancer.

Beekeeping ClubThe purpose of beekeeping club is to keep pollinators relevant, specifically bees, and create a space for members to discuss just how important and fascinating bees are. We tend to the hives on our hive visits where members can learn the ins and outs of keeping bees. We also talk all things bee related in our weekly informative meetings that discuss topics from bee anatomy all the way to types of honey.

Women's Club Ice HockeyGeneseo Women’s Club Ice Hockey seeks to compete with college level athletes from other schools, engage in competitive and respectful play, and increase the awareness of the sport of women’s ice hockey. We practice twice a week and have games on weekends.
