Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Club SoftballClub Softball at Geneseo is an informal way to play and practice softball, whether it is for fun, for exercise, or competitively. We have members of all different skill levels and experience levels, and we pride ourselves in inclusivity and an open, safe environment. We have two levels of interest - Practice Squad and Game Squad. The Game Squad competes against other colleges through the National Club Softball Association (NCSA).

Men's Club BasketballClub Basketball serves as a great way to make new friends, stay active and continue to play the great sport of basketball. Players of all skill levels are welcome to join the organization and practices start up at the beginning of October. Then towards the end of November we will begin games that will run all the way through the Spring semester.

Voices for Planned ParenthoodVoices for Planned Parenthood at Geneseo is an organization on campus which seeks to educate students about issues surrounding reproductive justice, and raise awareness about the mission of Planned Parenthood. We hold weekly general meetings, open to any student, that focus on different topics regarding reproductive justice. Past meeting topics have included sex education around the country, the history of Planned Parenthood, and different methods of birth control. We also hold efforts each semester to fundraise for Planned Parenthood such as tabling in the union. In the spring semester, we hold our annual Sexy Egg hunt, which is an event where students learn about safe-sex practices surrounding sex toys and have the opportunity to win prizes related to sexual health and pleasure.

Musical Theatre ClubMusical Theatre Club, or “MTC,” is a student-run organization within SUNY Geneseo whose purpose is to develop and expand the knowledge of musical theatre skills in production, including performance, direction, staging, choreography, musicality, and the technical theatre aspects of costume, set, and lighting design to aid in the general cultural development and enrichment of the campus community. In order to achieve this, MTC offers a musical revue each semester, consisting of a variety of musical theatre pieces and skits that feature the different strengths of our members to produce a well-rounded theatre experience. Auditions for MTC’s performing ensemble are held at the beginning of each semester, with a typical turnout ranging anywhere from 20 to 40 hopefully. Typically, the ensemble itself will range anywhere from 40 to 50 members at any given semester. In addition to the performing ensemble, members of the club help with costume design, light and soundboard operation, spotlight operation, stage management, musical accompaniment, and other aspects of production.

Phi Lambda ChiThe sisters of Phi Lambda Chi aim to maintain individuality while working together and promote harmony among all of the fraternal groups. It is important to the sisters to promote fellowship, scholarship and cooperation within the school and citizenship on the campus and in the community while upholding our Constitution and that of the Inter-Greek Council. Phi Lamb adopted Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester as their chapter's main philanthropy which fosters bonds among animals and people.

American Cancer SocietyA worldwide voluntary organization that is committed to raising money for cancer treatments, research, and patients, and helping to educate people on all the effects of cancer and the specifics. Schools, universities, churches, and other organizations participate in a Relay for Life event. This event helps raise money for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life lets people become more educated. We remember those who are still fighting, those who have passed but not forgotten, and those who have won the battle against cancer.

Sigma Delta TauMission statement: "Sigma Delta Tau empowers each member to reach her fullest potential by enriching the experience of women with similar ideals, building lasting relationships, promoting civic responsibility and fostering personal growth." Sigma Delta Tau was founded by a group of 7 women experiencing religious discrimination at Cornell University in 1917. Over the years, the organization has fostered the guiding principle of 'Patriae Multae Spes Una' or commonly, 'One Hope of Many People.'

Japanese Culture ClubJapanese Culture Club exists to promote relations between members of the club and the community through the exploration of Japanese culture. We act as a bridge between Japanese, American, and any culture with the intention to exchange cultural views and to dispel stereotypes. We have often collaborated with other culture clubs on campus through events providing food, stage performances, and more to highlight fascinating similarities and differences between different groups of peoples around the world.

EmmelodicsEmmelodics is an inclusive A Capella group that hosts a wide range of musical performances and gigs around campus and the greater campus community. Collaborations with other performing groups and various student organizations is common.

Minority Association for PreHealth StudentsThe Minority Association for PreHealth Students is a subchapter of the Student National Medical Association. The SNMA is a student-ran organization committed to enriching underserved communities through cultivating clinically excellent, culturally competent, and socially conscious physicians by offering underrepresented and underprivileged minorities in the medical field opportunities and resources.\n\nThese resources include (but not limited to):\nPipeline programs\nMentorships\nLeadership development\nVolunteerism\nResearch opportunities\nClinical experiences\nMed school visits\nPreMed advisors \nMCAT resources!\nCultural Awareness seminars\nRegional and National Conferences\netc.\n\nGeneseo MAPS encourages all members of the prehealth community to join our organization despite what you may identify as.
