Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Chemistry ClubThe purpose of Chemistry club is to provide Geneseo students of all majors and backgrounds an opportunity to come together and celebrate the science of chemistry in a fun and informative way. Chemistry club aims to provide students with peer advice and an opportunity to learn about possibilities of a future in chemistry. Chemistry club hopes to help students become better students and citizens. Some of our events include informative presentations on career options in science, research opportunities, and talks from various people in the scientific community. In addition, we host fun events to get students involved in science and the geneseo community, such as de-stressing events, demonstrations, and hands on projects.

Phi Kappa ChiWe as a Fraternal Organization pride ourselves on contributing to our community in a positive manor. We look forward to putting on Welfares where the profits go to non-profit charitable organizations. We as a group make it a point to conduct ourselves in a respectful manor on and off campus.

Theta ChiTheta Chi is one of the oldest men’s college fraternities in North America. Founded in 1856, Theta Chi Fraternity is a men’s collegiate fraternity with more than 200,000 initiated members and has established 245 chapters. Theta Chi’s mission is to develop college-age men into successful students, good citizens, lifelong brothers, and resolute leaders. Founded on the principle of friendship through the mutual assistance of every member, Theta Chi aims to provide its members with an enjoyable and fulfilling collegiate experience that also prepares them for rewarding, successful lives after graduation.

Society For Human Resource ManagementThe mission of SHRM is to be a globally recognized HR professional society that exists to develop and serve professionals in the HR world while also advancing and leading the HR profession. SHRM is able to do this through providing education, thought leadership, certification, community and advocacy to enhance the practice of human resource management and the effectiveness of HR professionals in the organizations and communities they serve. To achieve the purposes of the Society there shall be no discrimination in individual memberships or chapter affiliation because of race, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran's status. Whether you are considering a career in Human Resources or just want to get some hands-on experience, The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is a great club to be a part of. The club is broken up into various committees tasked with achieving all goals of the organization, from recruiting new members to reaching out to the community to hear from knowledgeable speakers with HR experience. One of our goals this year is to win the Merit Award for another year in a row.

Her CampusThe purpose of the club is to provide a platform for the young women (though not exclusive to women) of our campus to share their voices with a wider audience. Her Campus writers will have the opportunity to enrich their college experience by interacting with other successful college-age women whilst publishing their writing on a national website. We allow anyone to publish articles on topics that matter to them. We host weekly meetings. We will start hosting bonding events so that our members can get to know each other more. We want Her Campus at Geneseo to be a close-knit community where friendships are formed and a safe space for all voices to be heard.

Theology ClubTheology Club will serve as a confidential, supportive niche for students who have either left religion or are having doubts about their current religion. With no intent of religious intolerance/discrimination, this organization is targeted towards free-minded individuals who are interested in engaging in respectful, genuine dialogues in a receptive and safe environment. With Theology Club, students will be allowed to openly discuss traditionally subverted topics regarding particular religions or to simply alleviate one’s internal chaos through the exchange of anecdotes regarding their upbringing, religion, or emotions. Overall, Theology Club will serve as a haven for students with no basis of discrimination which will respectfully foster and stimulate logical argumentation, advance mutual understanding, cosmopolitanism, and pluralism amongst the Geneseo community.

Art History ClubThe purpose of the art history club is to cultivate a welcoming community for those who are interested in learning about the topic of art history. Weekly meetings, held at 7pm on Monday evenings, will consist of various activities from trivia, to craft nights, to sharing information about the topic of art history through varying formats. There is also a plan to schedule a trip to a local art museum in the Rochester area.

Women in Business ClubThe Women in Business Club is an open-entry organization that strives to connect like-minded students. Our club is open to all majors and genders. We meet bi-weekly with varying opportunities from connecting with guest speakers to engaging in professional development workshops. Our goals are to grow networks, form a sense of community, encourage personal and professional growth, and create opportunities to explore career paths.

Morgan's Message Chapter at SUNY GeneseoStigma is one of the main reasons why athletes with mental health issues don’t seek the help they need. Gender stereotyping, busy schedules, and a poor understanding of mental health also play a critical part. Many problems of mental health in student-athletes have been brought to light recently, but haven’t been dealt with to help their athletes in the quickest/safest manner possible. It is our role as athletes, coaches, and sports governing bodies to help de-stigmatize mental health problems and promote a culture of well-being. The goal of club’s meetings is aimed to amplify stories, resources, and expertise to confront student-athlete mental health, build a community by and for athletes, and provide a platform for advocacy. Students will be able to gain a better understanding of mental health and how to pass that knowledge to others. These goals will be accomplished through information sessions to improve these skills and fundraisers to donate as we take further action in this cause. These events and fundraisers will be another fun way to bond with others in between difficult and serious discussions, while still having a positive impact.
