Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Caribbean Student Association

The Caribbean Student Association is dedicated to spreading awareness and educating about the Caribbean and Caribbean culture on campus. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and welcoming environment for Caribbean identifying students and all intersecting identities on campus.

Pride Alliance

Pride Alliance is an on-campus group devoted to discussing LGBTQ+ issues, promoting activism in the queer community, and maintaining a safe space in which all students can thrive. Pride provides a relaxed and safe environment for anyone to share and learn about issues related to gender and sexual minorities in today's world. With the help of its members, Pride plans several Late Knight events such as Second Chance Prom and Drag Ball. We also offer many other on campus events such as the "LGBT? Fine By Me" panel discussion, speakers for National Coming Out Day along with Pride Night, which is an event to celebrate both the club and the cultures it promotes. Ultimately, our goal is to make the campus a better and more informed environment so all students can call Geneseo their home.

Korean American Student Association

The Korean American Student Association is a cultural club that is dedicated to educating and uniting those on campus who share an interest in Korean culture. We hold two annual events, one per semester, to help share Korean culture in an engaging and unique way. Our fall event is Running Man, which shares a name with and takes inspiration from a Korean variety show. Participants work in teams to complete mini games and gain the most points out of all teams playing. In the spring, KASA hosts K-Night, our cultural dinner. It is the biggest event of the year for us, complete with dinner, dances, skits, and a fashion show that is all written and performed by KASA members.

Students for Life

SUNY Geneseo Students for Life seeks to transform culture by encouraging young people to work to end abortion in the United States. This is done through engaging in trainings to effectively educate students and peers, participating in tabling and other events on campus and around the community.

Original Xpressions

The OGX Dance Team’s purpose is to extend our love for dance to the Geneseo campus and community. Our intentions are to welcome students who don’t exactly fit in with modern and contemporary movements. We feel that the OGX Dance Team will offer another style of dance that will allow students not only from the urban areas of New York but including students of every culture to appreciate dance. The OGX Dance Team would like to perform at events hosted by Geneseo clubs such as talent shows, cultural dinners, Relay For Life, Geneseo Great Day. We host our own events and workshops throughout the school year. We partake in WOW and GLK programming. We also host a Spring Dance Showcase in which we portray our talents and host other Culture clubs or outside teams. We like to host activities in which we promote being active and traveling to nearby to spread our love for urban and cultural dancing. The purpose of the organization is consistent with the mission of the College.

Hillel

Hillel at Geneseo is a place where Jewish students can find their home away from home. Hillel is committed to providing a pluralistic, egalitarian, and inclusive community for Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. We have weekly Shabbat services and dinner in addition to other religious, social, and educational events.

Chinese Culture Club at Geneseo

The Chinese Culture Club at Geneseo is dedicated to promoting and educating students on Chinese culture and diaspora. We host events such as Mahjong Night, Dumpling Night, Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, and China Night.

Filipino Student Union

The Filipino Student Union (FSU) at SUNY Geneseo is a cultural organization that aims to celebrate Filipino culture. Japanese Culture Club

Japanese Culture Club exists to promote relations between members of the club and the community through the exploration of Japanese culture. We act as a bridge between Japanese, American, and any culture with the intention to exchange cultural views and to dispel stereotypes. We have often collaborated with other culture clubs on campus through events providing food, stage performances, and more to highlight fascinating similarities and differences between different groups of peoples around the world.

Karate Club

We are an organization that aims to allow all students, regardless of experience, to learn and practice karate in a fun, inclusive, and low-pressure environment. We structure our meetings to allow each student to work to their own level of intensity so that everybody can have a valuable experience no matter their martial arts background. In club, we teach many different facets of karate, including technique, kata, sparring, breaking, and self-defense. We draw from a variety of karate styles to help establish a broad base of knowledge, and we welcome students from every style of martial arts, not just karate. Karate club is a wonderful place to begin your martial arts journey or to expand on the knowledge and skills you already have.
