Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Improv is a safe space to learn, observe, and practice various improv games and methods while creating a fun environment. Occasionally we will attempt to put on shows if schedules permit.

Green Environmental Organization at Geneseo

The Green Environmental Organization's mission is to promote environmentally-friendly practices on our campus, in our community, in our state and in our world. In doing this we will promote good health, an inclusive environment, biological diversity and the sustainability of the Earth and its people. We do this by cleaning up right here in Geneseo, educating the Geneseo community and connecting with bigger environmental campaigns across the US.

Pride Alliance

Pride Alliance is an on-campus group devoted to discussing LGBTQ+ issues, promoting activism in the queer community, and maintaining a safe space in which all students can thrive. Pride provides a relaxed and safe environment for anyone to share and learn about issues related to gender and sexual minorities in today's world. With the help of its members, Pride plans several Late Knight events such as Second Chance Prom and Drag Ball. We also offer many other on campus events such as the "LGBT? Fine By Me" panel discussion, speakers for National Coming Out Day along with Pride Night, which is an event to celebrate both the club and the cultures it promotes. Ultimately, our goal is to make the campus a better and more informed environment so all students can call Geneseo their home.

Men's Club Soccer

We are a student-run on-campus organization that gets students together to get touches on the ball multiple times a week. In addition, we will compete with other local colleges against their club teams. Our goal is simply to have fun and play soccer. We aim to create a positive and inclusive environment for students looking to continue sharing a passion for the game.

Alpha Phi Omega

The three pillars of Alpha Phi Omega are Leadership, Friendship, and Service. Members are given opportunities for leadership roles, whether it is serving on the executive board or leading a service project. We foster a positive and inclusive environment for students. With our open membership policy, all students can join our organization and build connections with other students on-campus. APO believes in the importance of showing up and serving our community when they need us. We have worked with local organizations in the Geneseo and Rochester areas, such as Habitat for Humanity and Open Door Mission, as well as organizations across the nation and world, such as Relay For Life and the B+ Foundation.

Alpha Kappa Phi

Alpha Kappa Phi, also known as the Agonian sorority, is an organized group of young women who strive to positively impact our current and past members, and our surrounding community in Geneseo, New York. Established in 1885, Alpha Kappa Phi has a rich history of creating unbreakable sisterhood and lasting relationships between our members, and we seek to continue that growing bond with every new pledge class. The members of this organization are kind, intelligent, resilient, and hardworking young women that use their positive attributes to uplift themselves and each other; as well as create a positive environment every member is proud to be a part of. One of our organization's mottos is "strive to lead," which we hold near to our hearts as we use our time and resources to create fulfilling experiences for our members as well as give back to the Geneseo community we love to call home.

Exit 8 Acapella

Exit 8 is Geneseo’s first all gender acapella group, performing at Geneseo’s all-acapella concert, invitationals, festivals, the ICCA’s (International Championship of Collegiate Acapella), and more, Exit 8 is focused on bringing people together over their love of music! We rehearse twice a week in preparation for our concerts on Geneseo’s campus as well as the gigs we are invited to throughout the year. Exit 8 performs a wide variety of musical genres and strives to create a welcoming environment for all students!

Hillel

Hillel at Geneseo is a place where Jewish students can find their home away from home. Hillel is committed to providing a pluralistic, egalitarian, and inclusive community for Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. We have weekly Shabbat services and dinner in addition to other religious, social, and educational events.

Peace Action

Peace Action Geneseo is a non-partisan student group dedicated to empowering student advocates to take action on issues of peace and justice. Through education, grassroots organizing, and action campaigns, we work to promote informed student activism on campus and build leadership among young people in the peace movement. We host events related to peaceful resolution of conflict, environmentalism, nuclear proliferation, and more. Out goals are to: TRAIN students to be effective social advocates and grassroots organizers. EDUCATE young people on peace and justice issues, while keeping students informed on recent peace-related news and events. EMPOWER students to campaign for action and policies that will help our communities and our world become a safer, more peaceful place. CONNECT students to a larger community of young and professional activists who share a similar interest for peace and conflict resolution.

Men’s Club Lacrosse Team at Geneseo
