Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Biology Club

The purpose of the organization shall be to unite Geneseo’s biology majors, those interested in pursuing biology, and those who have a passion for biological sciences. We strive to provide our members with resources for their academic success and encourage members to establish a supportive community within their student environment and with the biology faculty. Our goal is to prepare and uplift our members to pursue careers in biological studies and provide them with resources that create ideal applicants for graduate programs. Our semester activities shall include publicity events, fundraising events, community service opportunities, apparel sales, and guest lectures all pertaining to the field of biology.

Circus Club

We are a collection of students at Geneseo who come together every week to practice our skills. It helps to practice around other people, and sometimes we set aside time to work through a trick as a group. If you've never picked up a hula hoop or a set of juggling balls, no worries- you're still welcome here. Likewise, if you have a vast arsenal of impressive tricks, always feel free to come by. Beginners and experts alike, we have a place for you. Circus Club is a casual club, so if your schedule only allows you to come for half an hour, or maybe one week but not the next, have no fear. We're still happy to see you! Circus Club has a weekly reservation of an indoor location on campus, but if the weather is nice, we try to be on the college green. Sometimes we'll plan ahead of time to meet in Sturges Auditorium, where there's more room to unicycle!

Geography Club

Geography Club is a club sponsored by the SUNY Geneseo Department of Geography and Sustainability Studies. Its goal is to provide students of Geneseo that have interest in the subject of geography an outlet for that passion. It does so by offering geographically applicable civil service events, referred to as mapathons, which aim to improve the mapping accuracy of the developing world. It also provides academic and career advisement sessions in peer and faculty advisement discussions, as well as fun and creative outlets in trivia nights, and game nights.

Pursuing Rewards In the Study of Mathematics

PRISM is a math club. We hold math events that create a fun environment for people who enjoy math to express that joy. We create connections through various events with professors where students are able to ask questions and build relationships with their professors outside of the classroom. We aim to create an enriching experience to all SUNY Geneseo students who enjoy math while promoting mathematics as not only a valuable subject but a fun one as well.

Southside Boys

The purpose of this organization is to provide the students of SUNY Geneseo with the opportunity to use and showcase their vocal talents through a student run a cappella music ensemble, as well as provide to those sharing our interest and passion for vocal skills and performance a safe, inclusive space to come to twice a week. Geneseo’s mission statement reads, "To support the College's educational purpose and goals by publishing, enforcing, drafting, and interpreting community standards. To facilitate student learning opportunities for ethical growth and development through the conduct process. To promote academic integrity and responsible conduct through education and accountability. To work to maintain a safe and orderly campus environment consistent with academic excellence, conducive to learning, and foster respect for others and for the College's mission of teaching, research and service." Southside Boys will fulfill this mission by facilitating a unique opportunity to supplement Geneseo’s rigorous curriculum with rich co-curricular life, enhancing the college community.

Mock Trial at Geneseo

Mock Trial is a competitive Advocacy Club. Each year, we build two teams who compete against other colleges and travel to universities around the US with a fictional civil or criminal court case. As a club, we hone our public speaking and acting skills and emphasize learning legal theory, case law, and rules of evidence. Members of our club come from a range of majors, and our activities provide an excellent building block towards a law school education, but many of our members intend to pursue alternate careers.

Art Club

Each week, the Art Club offers a creative outlet for students to express themselves. All levels of artistic ability are welcome! We seek to provide a program where students are able to utilize their talents while listening to music and communicating with their fellow peers. Meetings take place every Thursday at 7:00pm in Room 217 at Brodie Hall. Every other week there will be scheduled meetings that are selectively created. Along with open media nights that intersect these scheduled ones. All materials supplied!

Club Softball

Club Softball at Geneseo is an informal way to play and practice softball, whether it is for fun, for exercise, or competitively. We have members of all different skill levels and experience levels, and we pride ourselves in inclusivity and an open, safe environment. We have two levels of interest - Practice Squad and Game Squad. The Game Squad competes against other colleges through the National Club Softball Association (NCSA).

Men's Club Basketball

Club Basketball serves as a great way to make new friends, stay active and continue to play the great sport of basketball. Players of all skill levels are welcome to join the organization and practices start up at the beginning of October. Then towards the end of November we will begin games that will run all the way through the Spring semester.

  • Meet Times:
Weekly on Mondays , and Thursdays at 6:00 PM in Kuhl Gym

Knightline Dance Team

Knightline is the official dance team at SUNY Geneseo. We perform fast paced jazz routines that incorporate a kickline at Men's and Women's home basketball, hockey, and soccer games. We also perform at various events on campus such as Relay for Life. We are well networked with other campus organizations and are a close knit group that have formed an unbreakable bond. Routines are choreographed by the team captains and the team is advised by Jody DeLoria, an adjunct professor in the dance department. We hold auditions every fall semester.
