Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Partners in Health Engage at SUNY GeneseoPIH Engage at SUNY Geneseo is a chapter of the parent organization, Partners in Health. We work with our parent organization closely and are provided with the necessary resources and tools. We approach healthcare from an advocacy perspective, fundraising, and through community building and education. We advocate for increased funding for specific global and domestic policies that promote health as a human right (e.g., USAID’s bilateral tuberculosis account and The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria). At SUNY Geneseo, we will hold bi-weekly meetings to work together as a team, have seminars on important issues regarding health and healthcare, and have fundraising events throughout the school year.

Chinese Culture Club at GeneseoThe Chinese Culture Club at Geneseo is dedicated to promoting and educating students on Chinese culture and diaspora. We host events such as Mahjong Night, Dumpling Night, Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, and China Night.

Circus ClubWe are a collection of students at Geneseo who come together every week to practice our skills. It helps to practice around other people, and sometimes we set aside time to work through a trick as a group. If you've never picked up a hula hoop or a set of juggling balls, no worries- you're still welcome here. Likewise, if you have a vast arsenal of impressive tricks, always feel free to come by. Beginners and experts alike, we have a place for you. Circus Club is a casual club, so if your schedule only allows you to come for half an hour, or maybe one week but not the next, have no fear. We're still happy to see you! Circus Club has a weekly reservation of an indoor location on campus, but if the weather is nice, we try to be on the college green. Sometimes we'll plan ahead of time to meet in Sturges Auditorium, where there's more room to unicycle!

Rock Climbing ClubRock Climbing Club seeks to create a community of interested climbers through the pursuit of furthering their knowledge and applying their skills in practice. We hope to connect with other college students who share a similar passion for climbing by competing in local climbing competitions. The group is open to new and experienced athletes and places an emphasis on being inclusive and accessible to everyone who wants to climb. |
Golden Key International Honour SocietyThe Golden Key National Honour Society was founded in 1977 at Georgia State University, and the SUNY Geneseo chapter was chartered in 1994. The purpose of the society is to provide a forum for recognizing all exceptional students, regardless of their major or their level of involvement in campus activities. The SUNY Geneseo chapter extends invitations for membership each January to the top 15% of juniors and seniors (students with more than 60 credits). There are many benefits to membership in Golden Key. Newly inducted members pay a one-time membership fee, and are then entitled to participate in all Golden Key activities. In addition to being a resume builder, Golden Key membership offers chances at valuable leadership opportunities; chances to publish creative work in the society magazine, Concepts; and access to a wide network of advisors, alumni, and honorary members. Golden Key members receive access to Golden Key's Online Career Library, discounts to Kaplan Test Courses, and access to numerous national scholarship opportunities in all areas of academic and creative work. SUNY Geneseo's Golden Key chapter annually presents two scholarships: one to an outstanding new inductee, and one to an outstanding active member. Finally, the national organization also awards research grants and study abroad scholarships to qualified members. Our chapter focuses on providing academic service in the community of Geneseo and in the greater Livingston county. We do this by running registration workshops for freshman in the fall, reading to or with nearby elementary students, and supporting higher education in local high schools. We also participate in non-academically focused service activities, like Make-A-Difference Day, the Day of Caring, fundraising for the Livingston County Cares project, and Adopt-A-Family. We are a non-SA funded organization with a great deal of flexibility and resources. Our activities depend on the perceived needs of the community. Phi Delta EpsilonWe're the NY Xi Premedical Chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, a group of passionate members dedicated to improving our community and preparing ourselves to become future leaders.

Southside BoysThe purpose of this organization is to provide the students of SUNY Geneseo with the opportunity to use and showcase their vocal talents through a student run a cappella music ensemble, as well as provide to those sharing our interest and passion for vocal skills and performance a safe, inclusive space to come to twice a week. Geneseo’s mission statement reads, "To support the College's educational purpose and goals by publishing, enforcing, drafting, and interpreting community standards. To facilitate student learning opportunities for ethical growth and development through the conduct process. To promote academic integrity and responsible conduct through education and accountability. To work to maintain a safe and orderly campus environment consistent with academic excellence, conducive to learning, and foster respect for others and for the College's mission of teaching, research and service." Southside Boys will fulfill this mission by facilitating a unique opportunity to supplement Geneseo’s rigorous curriculum with rich co-curricular life, enhancing the college community.

Mock Trial at GeneseoMock Trial is a competitive Advocacy Club. Each year, we build two teams who compete against other colleges and travel to universities around the US with a fictional civil or criminal court case. As a club, we hone our public speaking and acting skills and emphasize learning legal theory, case law, and rules of evidence. Members of our club come from a range of majors, and our activities provide an excellent building block towards a law school education, but many of our members intend to pursue alternate careers.

Phi Alpha Delta Chapter at SUNY GeneseoThe purpose of this Fraternity shall be to form a strong bond uniting students and teachers of the law with members of the Bench and Bar in a fraternal fellowship designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.

Geneseo Club CheerleadingMost recently the Geneseo Cheerleading Team has competed as small advanced all girl, however in the past we have competed small advanced co-ed,. Mandatory practices are held two to three times a week throughout the season, along with attending games both semesters and competitions during the spring semester. The titles that the SUNY Geneseo Cheerleading Team has held include: 1st Place Epic Tour at Albany in 2019, 1st Place and Grand Champions of Platinum Nationals in 2019, and numerous first place victories in prior years.
