Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

La Casa Hispánica

Spanish Club meets every Wednesday at 7 pm in Welles 111. Each week, we celebrate a new idea through a variety of crafts and activities. This is a fun way to learn about Hispanic culture and the Spanish language, all while having fun!

French Culture Club

We plan to have meetings once a month relating to French language, culture, music, and food! Usually, we take a yearly trip to Montreal, but, unfortunately, this year that won't be possible.

Latinx Student Association

LSA is an organization that highlights latinx culture through creating a safe space on campus to have ongoing conversation surrounding latinx topics. We aim to be inclusive to all Latinx individuals hence introducing more inclusive language through our name. We put on annual events such as hispanic heritage month, La Mezcla Dinner and Sabor Latino Dinner. We also hold collaborations with organizations like GLK, OGX and other cultural clubs.

Delta Kappa Tau

A. We, the Delta Kappa Tau Fraternity, set forth to sustain an organization of intelligent, young men promoting brotherhood, community, service, and scholarship. Furthermore, we draw on our roots in the original Delphic Fraternity, founded in 1871, in continuing its mission: “Extended cultivation of thought and language, and to fit fraternal activities more efficiently into this pattern.”

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, has over 900 active chapters both in the United States and abroad. Sigma Tau Delta's goals are to promote and improve all aspects of the English discipline, promote literacy, and provide members a sense of community. Becoming a member of the Geneseo chapter confers the distinction of achievement in the area of English Literature and Creative Writing. We aim to foster community through literature, language, and writing. We also want to promote literacy and service-learning by volunteering with groups whose mission we share in. Finally, we want our students to be examples of academic excellence, good character, and citizenship. Every year, we devote our efforts to initiatives that promote literacy and learning in our community. Some of these commitments we devote ourselves to for just one year, but many of them we revisit each year due to their high rate of success and engagement. Some of these initiatives include volunteering with the annual Rochester Children’s Book Festival; helping members receive funding and prepare their work to present at the national Sigma Tau Delta Convention; running book exchanges; collecting presents during the holidays for families in need; dominating to and raising awareness of a variety of charities whole goals align with our values; and more!

Gestures: Organization for Deaf Awareness

Gestures: Organization for Deaf Awareness is a club devoted to educating students, faculty, and members of the community about Deaf culture and American Sign Language. A portion of each meeting will be devoted to teaching American Sign Language at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, or the levels required to meet the knowledge and demands of the club's members. The club will strive to bring members into contact with members of the Deaf community, either by hosting guest speakers during club meetings or making members aware of events in the Deaf community they may attend or otherwise participate in. Once a semester the club will organize an ASL Knight, an event which will be open to the general student body, faculty, and other members of the community who express interest in attending.

Karate Club

We are an organization that aims to allow all students, regardless of experience, to learn and practice karate in a fun, inclusive, and low-pressure environment. We structure our meetings to allow each student to work to their own level of intensity so that everybody can have a valuable experience no matter their martial arts background. In club, we teach many different facets of karate, including technique, kata, sparring, breaking, and self-defense. We draw from a variety of karate styles to help establish a broad base of knowledge, and we welcome students from every style of martial arts, not just karate. Karate club is a wonderful place to begin your martial arts journey or to expand on the knowledge and skills you already have.
