Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Inter-Greek CouncilIGC is a diverse group of Greek Students that govern Geneseo's Greek community. Fraternity and sorority members share service, scholastic, social, athletic, and leadership experiences. On a yearly basis Greeks participate in numerous service events to give back to their community, including the Day of Caring, Relay for Life, a canned food drive, and numerous other service projects within every organization. The vision of the Inter Greek Council of the State University of New York College at Geneseo is to celebrate life-long fraternal and sororal bonds while continuing to grow through academics, campus involvement, community service, leadership and social engagements; while further recognizing the responsibility of each member and member organization to serve as role models and promote these opportunities to the College community to further its development.

SIgma Gamma Phi/ ArethusaFounded in 1892, Sigma Gamma Phi, also known as SGPhi, is Geneseo's third oldest sorority on campus. We are a local organization with three other chapters at Fredonia, Oneonta, and Potsdam. Once a year we get together with our chapters, swap traditions, and have a great time meeting other sisters! In Geneseo we are involved in many philanthropic activities and charities. We pride ourselves on our commitment to bettering our community through service projects. Sigma Gamma Phi is also not your typical sorority - and we pride ourselves on that! Forming great friendships and long-lasting bonds with each other are at the forefront of our organization. This, in turn with our strong alumnae support, allow us to form a network of passionate and focused women all over the country. We are all different and unique individuals who contribute to make Sigma Gamma Phi one of the best organizations around!

Alpha Omega PiWe strive to promote closeness and personal growth through friendship and the exchange of thoughts, opinions, and feelings between all of the sisters of Alpha Omega Pi. Our organization aims to expand the participation of its members in academics by encouraging sisters to realize and acknowledge the full extent of their potential. We advance social interaction between greek life, the college, and the local community by coordinating activities and services that will be a benefit to the listed groups while maintaining the individuality and rights of those involved.

Original XpressionsThe OGX Dance Team’s purpose is to extend our love for dance to the Geneseo campus and community. Our intentions are to welcome students who don’t exactly fit in with modern and contemporary movements. We feel that the OGX Dance Team will offer another style of dance that will allow students not only from the urban areas of New York but including students of every culture to appreciate dance. The OGX Dance Team would like to perform at events hosted by Geneseo clubs such as talent shows, cultural dinners, Relay For Life, Geneseo Great Day. We host our own events and workshops throughout the school year. We partake in WOW and GLK programming. We also host a Spring Dance Showcase in which we portray our talents and host other Culture clubs or outside teams. We like to host activities in which we promote being active and traveling to nearby to spread our love for urban and cultural dancing. The purpose of the organization is consistent with the mission of the College.

Alpha Phi OmegaThe three pillars of Alpha Phi Omega are Leadership, Friendship, and Service. Members are given opportunities for leadership roles, whether it is serving on the executive board or leading a service project. We foster a positive and inclusive environment for students. With our open membership policy, all students can join our organization and build connections with other students on-campus. APO believes in the importance of showing up and serving our community when they need us. We have worked with local organizations in the Geneseo and Rochester areas, such as Habitat for Humanity and Open Door Mission, as well as organizations across the nation and world, such as Relay For Life and the B+ Foundation.

Knightline Dance TeamKnightline is the official dance team at SUNY Geneseo. We perform fast paced jazz routines that incorporate a kickline at Men's and Women's home basketball, hockey, and soccer games. We also perform at various events on campus such as Relay for Life. We are well networked with other campus organizations and are a close knit group that have formed an unbreakable bond. Routines are choreographed by the team captains and the team is advised by Jody DeLoria, an adjunct professor in the dance department. We hold auditions every fall semester.

Orchesis Dance ClubOrchesis is the student-run dance organization at Geneseo. Our club is for anyone and everyone! Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced dancer, we have something for everyone! We have one show every semester with about 17-20 dances, each of which is student choreographed. We are the largest student-run organization on campus with over 60 members.

Phi Lambda ChiThe sisters of Phi Lambda Chi aim to maintain individuality while working together and promote harmony among all of the fraternal groups. It is important to the sisters to promote fellowship, scholarship and cooperation within the school and citizenship on the campus and in the community while upholding our Constitution and that of the Inter-Greek Council. Phi Lamb adopted Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester as their chapter's main philanthropy which fosters bonds among animals and people.

American Cancer SocietyA worldwide voluntary organization that is committed to raising money for cancer treatments, research, and patients, and helping to educate people on all the effects of cancer and the specifics. Schools, universities, churches, and other organizations participate in a Relay for Life event. This event helps raise money for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life lets people become more educated. We remember those who are still fighting, those who have passed but not forgotten, and those who have won the battle against cancer.
