Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Actuarial Science ClubThe Actuary Club allows students to learn more about the career field, interact with other students of similar interests, improve their interview skills, and attend lectures with guest speakers. Also, the club helps students better understand the actuarial profession by maintaining a strong alumni network that assists in the pursuit of internships and full-time jobs upon graduation.

HillelHillel at Geneseo is a place where Jewish students can find their home away from home. Hillel is committed to providing a pluralistic, egalitarian, and inclusive community for Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. We have weekly Shabbat services and dinner in addition to other religious, social, and educational events.

Biology ClubThe purpose of the organization shall be to unite Geneseo’s biology majors, those interested in pursuing biology, and those who have a passion for biological sciences. We strive to provide our members with resources for their academic success and encourage members to establish a supportive community within their student environment and with the biology faculty. Our goal is to prepare and uplift our members to pursue careers in biological studies and provide them with resources that create ideal applicants for graduate programs. Our semester activities shall include publicity events, fundraising events, community service opportunities, apparel sales, and guest lectures all pertaining to the field of biology.

Partners in Health Engage at SUNY GeneseoPIH Engage at SUNY Geneseo is a chapter of the parent organization, Partners in Health. We work with our parent organization closely and are provided with the necessary resources and tools. We approach healthcare from an advocacy perspective, fundraising, and through community building and education. We advocate for increased funding for specific global and domestic policies that promote health as a human right (e.g., USAID’s bilateral tuberculosis account and The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria). At SUNY Geneseo, we will hold bi-weekly meetings to work together as a team, have seminars on important issues regarding health and healthcare, and have fundraising events throughout the school year.

Gospel ChoirWe are the only gospel musical group on campus! Our goal is to elevate and empower college students through ministry of gospel music on and off campus. As a Christian based group, we accept individuals from all backgrounds regardless of religious beliefs, musical experience, or lack thereof! We perform at Ghana gala, Kwanzaa, other cultural events and off campus invitationals.

Southside BoysThe purpose of this organization is to provide the students of SUNY Geneseo with the opportunity to use and showcase their vocal talents through a student run a cappella music ensemble, as well as provide to those sharing our interest and passion for vocal skills and performance a safe, inclusive space to come to twice a week. Geneseo’s mission statement reads, "To support the College's educational purpose and goals by publishing, enforcing, drafting, and interpreting community standards. To facilitate student learning opportunities for ethical growth and development through the conduct process. To promote academic integrity and responsible conduct through education and accountability. To work to maintain a safe and orderly campus environment consistent with academic excellence, conducive to learning, and foster respect for others and for the College's mission of teaching, research and service." Southside Boys will fulfill this mission by facilitating a unique opportunity to supplement Geneseo’s rigorous curriculum with rich co-curricular life, enhancing the college community.

Accounting SocietyAccounting society is a student run organization that aids accounting majors in better preparing them for work past the educational level. Focusing on strengthening skills such as interviewing skills and networking skills. By teaching accounting students how to highlight their skills in person and on paper the club will act as a supplementary resource for students to prepare past the classroom. The club ranges in activities from guest speakers to organized networking trips that allow students to make connections with firms and alumna.

Musical Theatre ClubMusical Theatre Club, or “MTC,” is a student-run organization within SUNY Geneseo whose purpose is to develop and expand the knowledge of musical theatre skills in production, including performance, direction, staging, choreography, musicality, and the technical theatre aspects of costume, set, and lighting design to aid in the general cultural development and enrichment of the campus community. In order to achieve this, MTC offers a musical revue each semester, consisting of a variety of musical theatre pieces and skits that feature the different strengths of our members to produce a well-rounded theatre experience. Auditions for MTC’s performing ensemble are held at the beginning of each semester, with a typical turnout ranging anywhere from 20 to 40 hopefully. Typically, the ensemble itself will range anywhere from 40 to 50 members at any given semester. In addition to the performing ensemble, members of the club help with costume design, light and soundboard operation, spotlight operation, stage management, musical accompaniment, and other aspects of production.

American Cancer SocietyA worldwide voluntary organization that is committed to raising money for cancer treatments, research, and patients, and helping to educate people on all the effects of cancer and the specifics. Schools, universities, churches, and other organizations participate in a Relay for Life event. This event helps raise money for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life lets people become more educated. We remember those who are still fighting, those who have passed but not forgotten, and those who have won the battle against cancer.

EmmelodicsEmmelodics is an inclusive A Capella group that hosts a wide range of musical performances and gigs around campus and the greater campus community. Collaborations with other performing groups and various student organizations is common.
