Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!
With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.
A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.
Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.
Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

SUNY Geneseo Model UN ClubThe Model UN club holds weekly meetings which generally consist of at least one exercise meant to simulate our conferences in some way. Our conferences in a normal year would be at several colleges around the Northeast and one in Montreal, where each member of the team who comes participates in a separate UN committee simulation. The purpose of these is two debate the topic of that UN assembly meeting and over the course of the weekend, draft and debate UN style resolutions.

Club SoftballClub Softball at Geneseo is an informal way to play and practice softball, whether it is for fun, for exercise, or competitively. We have members of all different skill levels and experience levels, and we pride ourselves in inclusivity and an open, safe environment. We have two levels of interest - Practice Squad and Game Squad. The Game Squad competes against other colleges through the National Club Softball Association (NCSA).

Men's Club BasketballClub Basketball serves as a great way to make new friends, stay active and continue to play the great sport of basketball. Players of all skill levels are welcome to join the organization and practices start up at the beginning of October. Then towards the end of November we will begin games that will run all the way through the Spring semester.

Knightline Dance TeamKnightline is the official dance team at SUNY Geneseo. We perform fast paced jazz routines that incorporate a kickline at Men's and Women's home basketball, hockey, and soccer games. We also perform at various events on campus such as Relay for Life. We are well networked with other campus organizations and are a close knit group that have formed an unbreakable bond. Routines are choreographed by the team captains and the team is advised by Jody DeLoria, an adjunct professor in the dance department. We hold auditions every fall semester.

Ski Racing TeamTo allow students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate in a competitive ski environment. Competitive skiing provides a challenging and lifelong experience. This organization will be a positive representative of the college on local, state, and national levels. We compete against other schools at different mountains across the state! It's a ton of fun and you will make lots of new friends. We stay at hotels when we race at farther away mountains, and get up early to race all day! The ski team is comprised of a girls and boys team (we practice together). Everyone races individually twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday. Typically slalom races and Giant Slalom are on different days.

Musical Theatre ClubMusical Theatre Club, or “MTC,” is a student-run organization within SUNY Geneseo whose purpose is to develop and expand the knowledge of musical theatre skills in production, including performance, direction, staging, choreography, musicality, and the technical theatre aspects of costume, set, and lighting design to aid in the general cultural development and enrichment of the campus community. In order to achieve this, MTC offers a musical revue each semester, consisting of a variety of musical theatre pieces and skits that feature the different strengths of our members to produce a well-rounded theatre experience. Auditions for MTC’s performing ensemble are held at the beginning of each semester, with a typical turnout ranging anywhere from 20 to 40 hopefully. Typically, the ensemble itself will range anywhere from 40 to 50 members at any given semester. In addition to the performing ensemble, members of the club help with costume design, light and soundboard operation, spotlight operation, stage management, musical accompaniment, and other aspects of production.

Ski and Snowboard ClubProvide the opportunity to ski and snowboard to Suny Geneseo students and faculty through the purchase of discount lift tickets, organization of transportation, and trips to non-local resorts.

Recess MagazineA platform used to unite the BIPOC students and offer a safe space for self expression. Through voluntary submission content and projects created by the general team members, the magazine will provide a diverse source of entertainment and resources. With opportunities such as artistic recognition, project showcase, staff highlights, literary pieces, and much, much more. The goal of our magazine is hold a "playgound" of content for students to embrace the freedom that comes with our platform.

Women's Club Ice HockeyGeneseo Women’s Club Ice Hockey seeks to compete with college level athletes from other schools, engage in competitive and respectful play, and increase the awareness of the sport of women’s ice hockey. We practice twice a week and have games on weekends.

Men's Club VolleyballThe purpose of this club is to learn, teach and play volleyball in an organized manner. In addition, it will also participate in tournaments at other nearby colleges. The club will also plan to host one tournament per semester where club teams from other schools will attend and compete at SUNY Geneseo.
