Education and Social Justice Journal

The Education and Social Justice Journal is a student-led, peer-reviewed journal for undergraduate and masters-level graduate students in education. This journal aims to provide a forum for students to voice their concerns, contribute ideas, and discuss the social conditions currently facing students and educators in New York State and the United States as a whole.

Mission:

The Education and Social Justice Journal will accept articles addressing current social issues facing students and educators in the classroom. Topics may include any of the following:

  • Segregation/desegregation/resegregation
  • Multicultural education
  • Equity issues in education
  • Standards and standardized testing
  • The impact of No Child Left Behind legislation
  • Gender bias in education
  • Bilingual education
  • Urban or rural education
  • Early childhood education
  • Child poverty
  • Health issues that affect children and/or adolescents
  • Social policies that affect children and/or families
  • Social justice issues in special education
