The OWL General Chemistry System is a database of parameterized questions, discovery modules, and integrated tutors, correlated to the text.  A part of class homework assignment will be presented from OWL system. 
 


1. Registering OWL

Go to registration site for SUNY-Geneseo.  Then, click “ Student Registration”.  You need to fill out your pass code number and others. Once you are registered, you can log in from next time.
OWL log in page  You need to type in your log in name and password.

 

2. Registration of PRS Clicker
Once you registered OWL, you can register your PRS clicker at the OWL website.  Go visit the PRS registration site and fill in the PRS clicker number given in your clicker.

1.       The assignment of OWL home work and its due date will be announced in the OWL system website.   The assignment of written homework of each chapter will be announced during the class and at the instructor’s website.

2.       The first week of the class will NOT request ”PRS Quiz”.  (The “PRS (Personal response System) Quiz will be explained during the orientation time.  If you missed it, please contact to an instructor.)

3.       This course has a tutor/grader.  If you require an extra individual help, please request tutor for a support.

There are two types of homework in this course:
(1) OWL
(2) Written.

 

Exam /Sample Exam

All sample exams will be multiple choices, however the exams will be a combination of multiple and written.  Please try sample exam and submit the answer to the instructor.  The result will be posted in the web site.  (Usually, these sites are not available until the date close to each exam.) 
You can submit your answer  and check how you are doing.  In order to submit, click & icon and type your answers on the form.  The result will be sent to you by e-mail  However, this site will closeusually 10pm at a day before the review session.  Then, key of sample exam will be released. (Click key to down load the key).  By clicking the icon “N(review)”, you can down load the note from the review session during the class (not necessary the review session outside of the class).
