Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Sapphire Winterguard at Geneseo

The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment where students can learn flag spinning, rifle spinning, and basic dance techniques, no matter their level of experience. The ultimate goal of the organization is to represent Geneseo in competition in the North East Color Guard Circuit. The organization will also be available for special performance at sporting events and other campus activities to show school spirit and support.

Inter-Residence Council

The State University of New York College at Geneseo Inter-Residence Council, as the largest on-campus organization, is committed to providing a positive, approachable, and effective forum for all students. The Inter-Residence Council strives to be the aware and involved voice of Geneseo’s residential community and seeks to develop a broader intellectual, social, and cultural on-campus environment. From this foundation, the Inter-Residence Council trains and develops the next generation of student leaders.

Creative Writing Club at Geneseo

We'll decide who will be submitting for workshop each week. Submission is completely voluntary. Most likely it will be fiction, but we're opening the floor to poetry as well this semester. Afterwards we'll do some cool writing prompts and share them around the room. This club is totally for fun! People who take Creative Writing seriously are more than welcome (and encouraged) to join, but the meetings are perfect for any skill level.

Le Cercle Français

We plan to have meetings once a month relating to French language, culture, music, and food! Usually, we take a yearly trip to Montreal, but, unfortunately, this year that won't be possible.

Circus Club

We meet to teach and encourage ourselves and others to learn, practice, and experience new circus acts and performances. Common only these are juggling, flow arts like poi and hula hoops, and other things like the diablo, card tricks, yo-yo, tarot, and other events. If someone has interest in a circus style hobby and we can safely explore it we are always willing to expand to new types.
