Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Mock Trial at Geneseo

The purpose of the Mock Trial team will not only be to provide practice for those students interested in pursuing careers in the legal field, but also to improve the public speaking and analytical skills of any Geneseo student interested therein, in a social environment. The opportunity to participate on this Mock Trial team will coincide with the aim of SUNY Geneseo to “develop socially responsible citizens with skills and values important to the pursuit of an enriched life and success in the world.” The Mock Trial team does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, disability, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, or sexual orientation. The Mock Trial team is dedicated to being an anti-racist organization and supporting and advocating for the needs of the BIPOC community within our organization, on our campus, and in the Geneseo community as a whole.

Voices for Planned Parenthood

Voices for Planned Parenthood of the State University of New York at Geneseo exists to educate the University community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into reproductive justice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to on campus, local, state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.

Stitches Knitting and Crocheting

Stitches is a club for people of all skill types. We teach everyone and welcome everyone. We have fun and talk about anything we can think of. We normally do an annual fundraiser for a local cat shelter. We also participate in relay for life and makers fest and do other volunteer work that we can. We hope to help people destress while knitting or crocheting and we hop to help people learn a new skil.

Ski Racing Team

To allow students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate in a competitive ski environment. Competitive skiing provides a challenging and lifelong experience. This organization will be a positive representative of the college on local, state, and national levels. We compete against other schools at different mountains across the state! It's a ton of fun and you will make lots of new friends. We stay at hotels when we race at farther away mountains, and get up early to race all day! The ski team is comprised of a girls and boys team (we practice together). Everyone races individually twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday. Typically slalom races and Giant Slalom are on different days.

Geneseo Beekeeping Club

Beekeeping Club aims to provide students with knowledge regarding all aspects of beekeeping. Specifically, we intend to increase awareness of the drastic decrease in honeybee populations that the US is currently experiencing. For decades the honeybee population has been on the decline, largely due to our actions as a society. Between 2018 and 2019, US honeybee populations experienced a decrease of nearly 40%, with some regions seeing losses of up to 90%. This is particularly damaging due to the fact that honey bees are the primary pollinator of our crops, supporting about $20 billion worth of crop production annually. Our club members are deeply concerned with this phenomenon and would like to make a positive impact by promoting environmental awareness. We accomplish this by holding weekly meetings where we discuss topics related to beekeeping. In addition to our advocacy and training meetings, we care for two hives on campus

Fishing Club at Geneseo

The main goal of the Fishing Club at Geneseo is to share the sport of fishing as well as proper fishery conservation practices with as many people as we can. We love to fish, and we want to foster that love of the sport in others.

Phi Kappa Pi

Clio was founded in 1872 and is Geneseo's oldest sorority. Our colors are gold and white and our flower is the beautiful daisy. As a tight-knit a loyal organization, we uphold our long-standing traditions with pride. Clios are more than sorority sisters. We're a family of best friends celebrating, doing charity, and sharing a bond that exists beyond the college years.

Men's Club Soccer

We are a student-run on-campus organization that gets students together to get touches on the ball multiple times a week. In addition, we will compete with other local colleges against their club teams. Our goal is simply to have fun and play soccer. We aim to create a positive and inclusive environment for students looking to continue sharing a passion for the game.

Sisters Making A Change

Sisters Making A Change is a local service and social sorority that was established in 2004. We pride ourselves on our values of service, scholarship, loyalty, unity, and wellness. We joined the inter-Greek council in 2013. Our main philanthropy is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and we host the Turkey Trot and Out of the Darkness walk in Geneseo annually.

Crew Club

Rowing programs are a quintessential aspect of the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities. Founded in 1990 by former professor Dr. John B. Hoey, our program has grown considerably in size and competitive nature. Throughout the campus and local community, Geneseo crew is recognized for its disciplined athletes, philanthropy, and as its community of tight-knit students. Athletes who row as a part of Geneseo Crew develop beneficial life skills and habits which often lead students to academic success and life fulfillment. Our program consists of two teams, both Men and Women, whom are comprised of a novice and varsity team. Throughout our fall and spring competitive seasons, we compete in regattas from Canada to Pennsylvania. Our club has the opportunity to race against a multitude of other collegiate teams, both larger and smaller than our own. Geneseo Crew takes pride in our ability to rise to the challenge of competing at such a high level at these regattas. Our athletes consistently improve physically and technically as a result of their hard work and determination. Our team welcomes all levels of experience!
