Questions?
Revised Race Essay Peer Critiques
I’ll be looking for improvement over originals
Discussion
- These critiques seemed more substantive than usual: more attention to organizational issues affecting clarity, some to the arguments being made
- When to cite sources
- Don’t cite common knowledge (e.g., from class readings or discussions, things all your peers know)
- Do cite anything else (from specific book, web site, etc., things you had to look up)
- Sources / kinds of revision
- None, it was perfect (rarely if ever happens)
- Fix problems from original grading
- Extend / strengthen existing arguments
- Modifications to thesis
- Total rewrite (hopefully doesn’t happen very often either)
