Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Mock Trial Club

The purpose of the Mock Trial team will not only be to provide practice for those students interested in pursuing careers in the legal field, but also to improve the public speaking and analytical skills of any Geneseo student interested therein, in a social environment. We compete in local and regional competitions run by the American Mock Trial Association.

Psychology Club

The purpose of this organization is to perform three functions. Our first function is to provide information to undergraduates about important research or internship opportunities within the department and to explain the road-map to achieving the major. The volunteering function is to help students become more involved in the community and promote psychology-related programs on campus. Our last function is to provide academic activities such as colloquiums and speakers for the students that they would not ordinarily receive in the classroom.

Anime Club of Geneseo

Anime Club of Geneseo aims to provide a welcoming environment for students to explore and bond over a shared interest in anime and Japanese culture. Through our events and meetings we hope to draw in like-minded students to create a sense of community and uphold Geneseo's values of openness and inclusivity. Events like our Cosplay Karaoke Night has been known to draw in an upwards of fifty students and draws people from outside the Anime Club as well as our sister clubs (Nerf and GAGG).

Yoga Club

The purpose of the Yoga Club is to promote self-discovery leading to Self-knowledge and Self-Actualization. The Yoga Club transmits the teachings, philosophy, and practices of Yoga to the SUNY Geneseo Community. The club is a collaborative effort between the Advisor/Instructor and Coordinators and is run on the basis of open communication and consensus. The club meets once a week.

Model United Nations at Geneseo

Our organization attends five conferences a year and has won awards while representing SUNY Geneseo in these competitions. We are proud to be ranked in the top seventy-five teams in the country for Model United Nations. While on campus Model United Nations strives to improve the lives and confidence of students by teaching important life-long skills. The purpose of the Geneseo Model United Nations Club is to promote the interest of students in international affairs and facilitate participation in simulations of international organizations, including but not limited to the United Nations. The club is open to any fee-paying student enrolled at Geneseo.

Club Softball

The purpose of this organization is to create a group that students of all skill levels can join to participate in a competitive softball environment. This will enrich the learning experience by creating a community where students with similar interests can come together and share their passion.

Programming and Data Science Club

This organization wishes to foster an interest in programming and data science in students who do not currently have skills in these fields. The organization will do this by hosting events that are open to the community, in which club members and any interested Geneseo faculty or staff will give short presentations on interesting aspects of and problems in programming and data science.

Memories Campaign

Geneseo Memories Campaign is oral history program—in collaboration with the Geneseo English Department and the Livingston County Office of the Aging—devoted to recording the folk traditions and history of the SUNY Geneseo community. Student volunteers will be trained in recording and transcribing dialects and dialogue, managing self-limiting stories and emphasizing self-empowering stories, and publishing recorded oral histories of senior citizens in the Geneseo community. The club will contribute magazines to the college highlighting their work with each senior citizen.

Art Club

Art club is open to all students, both artists and students who simply want to make friends and/or try something new. Art club will offer simple projects and allow students to work on some of their own projects or drawings in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Stitches: Geneseo Knitting and Crocheting Club

Stitches is a club to promote the advancement of knitting and crocheting at Geneseo; to provide a forum for the exchange of patterns and ideas in a social setting; and to organize knitting and crocheting projects for charity donations. Stitches aims to create connections between Geneseo students, and to provide a healthy outlet for the stress college students often experience.
