Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Pursuing Rewards In the Study of mathematics (PRISM)

This is often referred to as the student math organization. We hold events sometimes pertaining to math and sometimes not pertaining to math. Part of our goal is to make sure that incoming students can learn to enjoy math and have a chance to meet with professors.

Mock Trial

Mock Trial is a student run club where we take the facts of a fictional court case and present arguments in front of a panel of judges and jurors in a competitive format against other schools. Students take on roles of attorneys and witnesses to simulate a realistic courtroom experience. Members of Mock Trial learn trial procedure, objections, how to think on their feet, public speaking, and even acting skills! We aim to educate the next generation of legal professionals and general global citizens, and we have fun doing it!

Psychology Club

Psychology Club is here to help Psychology students learn more about their respective career paths as well as provide resources to assist them in their studies. We hold meetings where topics in psychology are discussed as well as holding guest speaker events with people in the field to show students what working in this position is like.

Geneseo Club Cheerleading

The Geneseo Cheerleading team participates in school events, as well as several competitions. We perform at both men's and women's division III basketball games. Most recently the Geneseo Cheerleading Team has competed as small advanced co-ed, however in the past we have competed all girl level 6. Mandatory practices are held two to three times a week throughout the season, along with attending games both semesters and competitions during the spring semester. The titles that the SUNY Geneseo Cheerleading Team has held include: 1st Place Epic Tour at Albany in 2019, 1st Place and Grand Champions of Platinum Nationals in 2019, and numerous first place victories in prior years. This team prides itself on a tradition of team unity and presents a competitive, successful squad year after year. Thanks for your interest in our team and we hope to see you at our social events, information meeting, and tryouts in the Fall.

Anime Club of Geneseo

Gather people to watch anime series and movies or other actives on Fridays. Talk about anime with like minded people.

Model UN Club

The Model UN club holds weekly meetings which generally consist of at least one exercise meant to simulate our conferences in some way. Our conferences in a normal year would be at several colleges around the Northeast and one in Montreal, where each member of the team who comes participates in a separate UN committee simulation. The purpose of these is two debate the topic of that UN assembly meeting and over the course of the weekend, draft and debate UN style resolutions.

Club Softball

Club Softball at Geneseo is an informal way to play and practice softball, whether it is for fun, for exercise, or competitively! We have members of all different skill levels and experience levels; whether you have been playing your entire life or you are looking to try something new, you’re totally welcome to join! We have both a game team and a practice team, and our game team (roster maximum of 25) is part of the National Club Softball Organization!

Programming and Data Science Club

The Programming and Data Science Club of SUNY Geneseo offers a fun and educational environment for students and community members alike to pursue their interests in computer science, data science, and technology. Our club also functions as a resource for students that need help learning any of the programming languages that they'll find in their classes at Geneseo. As a club, we've traveled to different computing/data competitions across New York and done very well. We've received awards and praise from HackUpstate, Google, and the American Statistical Association at their DataFest competition. Some of the club's goals include spreading the wealth of computing knowledge to the Geneseo community, continuing to do well at these regional competitions, and getting more community members interested in the exciting and useful world of computer and data science.

Memories Campaign at Geneseo

Memories Campaign is oral history program—in collaboration with the Geneseo English Department and the Livingston County Office of the Aging—devoted to recording the folk traditions and history of the SUNY Geneseo community. Student volunteers will be trained in recording and transcribing dialects and dialogue, managing self-limiting stories and emphasizing self-empowering stories, and publishing recorded oral histories of Senior citizens in the Geneseo community. The club will contribute magazines to the college highlighting their work with each Senior citizen.

Art Club

Art Club aims to create a safe and creative environment where students can express themselves freely. All levels of artistic ability are welcome to join. We will have bi-weekly meetings with group projects, or you can use the space to complete existing art projects as well.
