Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Phi Alpha Delta

Phi Alpha Delta is a pre-law organization which provides students interested with resources to prepare for law school. They do so by holding bi-weekly meetings with topics including LSAT preparation, attorney panels, advisor meetings, as well as law school meetings. Large events include a meeting dedicated to logic games on the LSAT, as well as a meet the advisors night for the Pre-Law advisors, and the University of Rochester law school fair.

The Speaking Project

We have weekly meetings where one individual will give a major speech/presentation and be evaluated by a peer. We then discuss the evaluation in order to point out things the speaker did well, whether the answered the prompt, and what are some things they could work on. We aim to have a safe and comfortable environment where the speaker has the opportunity to grow and prosper in public speaking. No individual is forced to do a major speech if they do not want to. They are more than welcome to just come sit and listen to the advise that is given.

Geneseo Club Cheerleading

The Geneseo Cheerleading team participates in school events, as well as several competitions. We perform at both men's and women's division III basketball games. Most recently the Geneseo Cheerleading Team has competed as small advanced co-ed, however in the past we have competed all girl level 6. Mandatory practices are held two to three times a week throughout the season, along with attending games both semesters and competitions during the spring semester. The titles that the SUNY Geneseo Cheerleading Team has held include: 1st Place Epic Tour at Albany in 2019, 1st Place and Grand Champions of Platinum Nationals in 2019, and numerous first place victories in prior years. This team prides itself on a tradition of team unity and presents a competitive, successful squad year after year. Thanks for your interest in our team and we hope to see you at our social events, information meeting, and tryouts in the Fall.

Filipinx Student Union

The Filipinx Student Union at SUNY Geneseo aims to provide a community for Filipinx and Filipinx-American students at Geneseo by simultaneously combining traditional and modern aspects of Filipinx life. Additionally, we aim to spread Filipinx culture to the SUNY Geneseo campus and to people of all backgrounds. At the base level, we are a safe space for Filipinx students like us to live, breathe, and celebrate our culture.

Knightline Dance Team

Knightline is the official dance team at SUNY Geneseo. We perform fast paced routines that incorporate a kickline at Men's and Women's home basketball, hockey, and soccer games. We also perform at various events on campus such as Relay for Life. We are well networked with other campus organizations and are a close knit group that have formed an unbreakable bond. Routines are choreographed by the team captains and the team is advised by Jody DeLoria, an adjunct professor in the dance department. We hold auditions every fall semester.

Art Club

Art Club aims to create a safe and creative environment where students can express themselves freely. All levels of artistic ability are welcome to join. We will have bi-weekly meetings with group projects, or you can use the space to complete existing art projects as well.

Political Affairs Club

SUNY Geneseo’s Political Affairs Club (PAC) will engage in active dialogue in recent and historical political activities. The club is a safe space to participate in a bipartisan-led current events discussion. The focus will be on the United States political happenings but may extend to those outside of the country. We also coordinate fun events to broader one's understanding such as political debates, a trip to Washington D.C. in the Spring, and movie nights.

Ski Racing Team

To allow students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate in a competitive ski environment. Competitive skiing provides a challenging and lifelong experience. This organization will be a positive representative of the college on local, state, and national levels. We compete against other schools at different mountains across the state! It's a ton of fun and you will make lots of new friends. We stay at hotels when we race at farther away mountains, and get up early to race all day! The ski team is comprised of a girls and boys team (we practice together). Everyone races individually twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday. Typically slalom races and Giant Slalom are on different days.

Orchesis Dance

We allow anyone of any level to be a dancer or choreograph any family friendly piece they would like, then perform it in our shows that we hold once each semester! We do monthly check ins, provide rehearsal space options, and organize dancers into their choice dances.

Sapphire Winterguard at Geneseo

The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment where students can learn flag spinning, rifle spinning, and basic dance techniques, no matter their level of experience. The ultimate goal of the organization is to represent Geneseo in competition in the North East Color Guard Circuit. The organization will also be available for special performance at sporting events and other campus activities to show school spirit and support.
