Humn 220: H/Western Humanities I
A search for moral, social, and political alternatives and meaning embodied in the institutions, culture, and literature of Western Civilization from the beginnings to 1600. The course is factual as well as conceptual, including a narrative history of the period covered.
Latn 101: L/Elementary Latin I
Introduces the structure and sound of the target language. Develops the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Culture-based readings and collateral laboratory assignments. This course is designed for the student who has never studied the language before. In general, students who have a one-year high school equivalency may repeat this course, but for no credit.
