Geology Seminar

• Seminar is held on Fridays in ISC 115 at 3:30PM, unless otherwise indicated
• Meetings are open to everyone, and refreshments and snacks are available

The geological sciences seminar introduces students to professional practices in the geosciences. Weekly meetings feature student presentations (based upon literature searches) and visiting speakers. In addition to one oral presentation, students prepare an extended abstract reviewing their research. Along with geological topics, seminar students will also research career options and graduate programs in the earth sciences, develop a professional resume, and participate in other profession-building activites. The seminar course gives students the chance to carry out independent research and give professional oral presentations.
