The Soaring Stars program is a six-week, six-hour a day, five-days a week summer program for students in rural schools that incorporates research-based approaches inspired by the Reggio Emilia method of education. This approach is grounded in the surrounding community and sees the families as integral to the child’s academic success. Each of the 10 districts in rural Livingston county that are part of the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership participate. These include: Livonia CSD, Avon CSD, Caledonia-Mumford CSD, Pavilion CSD, Geneseo CSD, Mt. Morris CSD, York CSD, Wayland-Cohocton CSD, Dansville CSD, and Keshequa CSD.
