CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR FEB. 5 - 11

THURSDAY, FEB. 5:

LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery, William A. Brodie Hall, presents the Art Arena Group. The gallery is open daily from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, Feb. 13.

PERFORMANCE: The School of Performing Arts presents "Veg S.O.U.P.: The Mineola Twins," by Paula Vogel. Directed by Jennifer Woodham. 8 p.m., Robert Sinclair Theatre, William A. Brodie Hall. Tickets are $2 for students and $3 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the Brodie Box Office (245-5833). The performance runs through Saturday, Feb. 7.

ART EXHIBITION: The Opus Gallery to present and art exhibition featuring Steve Miller. Gallery hours are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Free and open to the public. Exhibit to run through Sunday Feb. 8.

FILM: The International Film Series presents the film "Vredens dag (Day of Wrath)." The film is in Danish with English subtitles. Carl Theodor Dreyer's classic is the story a young woman who falls in love with her husband's stepson. Set in 17th-century Denmark, Dreyer's love triangle is a study of superstition, witch-hunting, forced confessions and summary executions, an eloquently portrayed allegory of the "psychological repression and the slow destruction of goodness at the hands of zealots and hypocrites" (James Kendrick, Film Desk Reviews) that was taking place at the time it was filmed. The discussant will be SUNY Geneseo English Professor Ken Asher. 7 p.m., International Cinema Center, Guy A. Bailey Hall Auditorium (135). Free and open to the public.

FRIDAY, FEB. 6:

SPORTS: Men's Hockey vs. Potsdam. 7:00 p.m. Wilson Ice Arena. Admission at the door is $3 for adults; $2 for students; and free to SUNY Geneseo students.

SPORTS: Women's and Men's Basketball vs. Cortland. 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively, Kuhl Gymnasium. Admission at the door is $3 for adults; $2 for students; and free to SUNY Geneseo students.

SUNDAY, FEB. 8:

MUSIC: The School of Performing Arts presents the Geneseo Wind Quintet. 3 p.m., Central Presbyterian Church. Free and open to the public. 

PERFORMANCE: The SUNY Geneseo Limelight and Accents Performing Arts presents "Garth Fagan Dance". A passionate performance full of beauty, grace, originality, and impeccable style. Bold movements draw spectators in as the dancers change direction in mid-air or stop on a dime leaving everyone in attendance spellbound. This modern dance exhibition captures the movement and energy of Afro-Caribbean dance, the speed and precision of ballet, and the rule-breaking experimentation of post-modern dance. 7 p.m. Wadsworth Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for SUNY Geneseo students; $15 SUNY Geneseo faculty, staff, alumni, senior citizens and children under 12; and $18 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at MacVittie College Union Ticket Office (245-5873).
