Parents Weekend
to Feature College Classes Plus a Variety of Special
Events
GENESEO,
N.Y. -- Parents of Geneseo students will have the
opportunity to attend classes taught by faculty at a special program during Parents Weekend Oct. 24-25.
Parents College
will feature informative lectures and lively discussions on major topics of the
day, allowing parents to simulate the classroom experience of a Geneseo student. The
program will feature a wide array of classes ranging from “Understanding the
2008 Elections” to “The Physics of Baseball.”
“This is
our first year of Parents College and we think it will be a memorable component
of a weekend full of activities,” said Tammy Ingram, director of parent
relations at Geneseo.
“They will certainly get a sense of what their son or daughter experiences
at Geneseo on a daily basis.”
A
variety of other events are scheduled for the weekend including tours,
workshops, musical and sporting events and special entertainment. Well-known actor Kevin Bacon and his brother
Michael will perform their musical show Saturday evening at 8 o’clock in Kuhl Gym but parents must purchase tickets for the event in
advance through their registration process.
