program will feature speakers from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce; a regional

workshop addresses branding, product/service pitching, networking, competitive
analysis and other marketing topics vital to a successful business. How to Survive in a Tough Economy April
24, 2009 A forum
of experienced small business owners will discuss how they survive, or even prosper,
in an economic downturn. This program is
co-sponsored by the Wyoming County and Livingston County Chambers of Commerce,
the Alliance for Business Growth, and the Livingston County Development Group. How to Start a Small Business April
29, 2009 AND April
30, 2009 An
experienced business owner/adviser will provide an overview of needs for
starting and financing a small business.
Topics will include selecting the right business structure, licenses and
permits, business planning, market research, startup costs, financial management,
record keeping and other essential information. Introduction to Quickbooks May 18,
2009 This
hands-on workshop will provide step-by-step instructions for using the most
common Quickbooks features. Learn how to create your own company, track
and manage sales and expenditures, etc. Taught by a certified Quickbooks
instructor. No knowledge of
accounting is required. Mastering Quickbooks June 1,
2009 This
workshop covers advanced Quickbooks business
bookkeeping program tips, tricks and shortcuts and covers pass-through
expenses, payroll, inventory, sales tax, estimates, year-end procedures,
etc. Taught by a
certified Quickbooks instructor. NOTE:
