Middle States Self-Study

Many thanks to the members of our community who participated in the Middle States process.  This website is now posted to document our work.

On April 4 and 5, 2022, SUNY Geneseo will host a Visiting Team from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) as part of our regular accreditation process. The visit will be held remotely via Zoom meetings.

To prepare for that important visit, we are encourage the entire community to read the final version of our Self Study document. There will be opportunities for all members of the college community to interact with the Visiting Team or April 4-5.

There are open fora via Zoom for students, faculty, and staff to meet with the visiting team; these require registration but are open to all college community members. Sign up by clicking the links in your email or via events.

Staff: Monday 3:30 PM

Faculty Tuesday 1:30 PM

Students: Tuesday 4:30 PM

You can view the Middle States standards Geneseo must meet for accreditation here: https://www.msche.org/standards/   The Middle States Working Groups for each standard were appointed in the Spring of 2020. For two years they gathered evidence and drafted our self study chapters, which are now available for review by the campus community.

We are committed to making this process inclusive and transparent, and we welcome the opportunity for dialog about our campus, what we do well, and how we can improve.

Check back often for updated information.  We hope you will join the conversation!
