The Power of Physical Science is a National Science Foundation MSP-Start program designed to
provide a hands-on enrichment curriculum to science students. We have reviewed the current
literature in science education and have surveyed local science educators. Five neighboring rural
school districts in Livingston County are K-12 partners on this project. The K-12 partners will be
involved in designing and testing a pilot study curriculum that introduces students to issues of energy,
climate change, and ideas for meeting our nation's future energy needs while safeguarding the
environment. Pre- and post-testing will be used to determine the impact of this intervention.
