| In Brief: | Dr. Mary Ellen Zuckerman, Professor of Marketing, been a member of the School faculty since 1985, teaching courses in marketing, market research and organizational behavior. She served as Dean of the School of Buisiess from 1999-2008. Dr. Zuckerman has received numerous grants and awards. In Fall of 1999 and again in Fall 2002, she was nominated for the Athena Award (Rochester area award for women in business). She received a Spencer Foundation grant for the period 1992-1994 and held the position of Visiting Associate professor at McGill University in 1990-1991. In 1989-1990, she was a Research Fellow at the Freedom Forum Media Studies Center (formerly the Gannett Center for Media Studies). She received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service in 2006, and was nominated for the Distinguished Service Professor in 2009. Dr.Zuckerman's research interests focus on the development of the magazine industry, the history of the marketing research and advertising industries, and gender and media. She has written extensively and lectured frequently on these topics, and has served as an expert witness in hearings on postal rate increases. Her books include A History of Women's Magazines In the United States (Greenwood Press, 1998), The Magazine in America, co-authored with John Tebbel (Oxford University Press, 1991), and Information Sources in the History of Popular Women's Magazines (Greenwood Press 1991). Her articles have appeared in Business History Review, Journal of the Academy of Marketing, Advances in Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Education, Business and Economic History, American Periodicals, and Journalism History. | ||
