Geneseo's Chemistry program provides students with the fundamental principles and experimental skills that help them become responsible, contributing citizens with the tools necessary to make informed decisions. Upon completion of a chemistry degree, our students are prepared to attain employment or enter selective graduate programs. Students completing the prerequisite teaching certification requirements have the knowledge and dispositions to become successful teachers. In service to other majors, the Department affords students a chemical foundation in a context that helps them succeed in their chosen fields of study. The Chemistry Department provides opportunities and support for the professional development of its faculty and staff members who are contributing members of the College community.
