Department students win Critical Language Scholarships
Annie Renaud (Central and Eastern European Studies Minor) and Alex McGrath (who completed 4 semesters of Russian with the Department), have won highly competitive Critical Language Scholarship awards for Russian this year in a national competition. The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) is a fully funded summer overseas language and cultural immersion program of the US State Department for American undergraduate and graduate students, with the goal of broadening the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and building relationships between the people of the United States and other countries.
