It is our pleasure to announce the second semester of Project TOGETHER. This was created to help the members of the Spanish-speaking community who want to learn or improve their proficiency in English. At the same time, we seek to offer our students the opportunity to tutor in English and practice their Spanish. We all win TOGETHER.
Other important news is our partnership with Alpha Phi Omega, a national mixed-service organization that provides volunteers and service to the nation, the community and the campus under the cardinal principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service.
The members of the team TOGETHER are the Spanish-speaking community, the Village of Geneseo community, the Livingston County Health Department (the MICHC Program), the Department of Languages and Literatures, the School of Education, the Center for Languages and Cultures, and APO.
Fifteen Geneseo students are working with ten families from our community (16 adults and 20 children). Our first class for the spring semester was Sunday, February 3.
Thank you to each one of you for making TOGETHER possible!
