SUNY Geneseo has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of the Top 400 Best College Values for 2019, ranking 96th on the comprehensive list of the nation's public and private colleges—24 spots higher than last year's ranking.

Geneseo also moved up in the public college rankings. This year, the College is 14th on the list of best public colleges for out-of-state students, and 39th among public colleges for in-state students, up 12 and 14 spots respectively. Kiplinger has conducted the ranking of public schools, private universities, and private liberal arts colleges into a single comprehensive list since 1998.

"Our rankings—which weigh affordability alongside academic quality—are designed to help families see how their full array of college options stack up," said Kaitlin Pitsker, associate editor, Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine.

The editors start with data from nearly 1,200 public and private four-year schools and narrow the list to the top schools based on measures of academic quality, cost, and financial aid data. The schools are then ranked using cost and financial aid measures.

The full rankings are now available online at kiplinger.com/links/colleges and will appear in print in the September 2019 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, on newsstands August 13.
