Geneseo Tops U.S. News’ ‘Best Undergrad Teaching’ for 8th Time

SUNY Geneseo tops the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Undergraduate Teaching” rankings among regional universities in the North in its Best Colleges 2019 guidebook. The College also ranked second in the “Top Public Schools” category for regional universities in the North and is 14th in the overall regional category of 187 public and private institutions.

Academic Affairs Team Addressing Student Retention

“WIG” is a new initiative to improve student retention rates within the Division of Academic Affairs’ Office of the Provost. “We’ve only been at this for one semester, but already we’re speaking a common language and building a culture that will allow us to not only do our best work within the whirlwind, but in spite of it,” says Provost Stacey Robertson. “It’s not an ‘either/or’ choice: We’re very confident that we will achieve our Widely Important Goal and increase retention.”

Shauna Ricketts ’18 Receives Fulbright Award to Bulgaria

Aspiring film producer Shauna Ricketts ’18 fell in love with the art and educational power of documentaries while studying abroad during the spring 2017 semester in Southeast Asia at Thailand’s Mahidol University. Ricketts will have an opportunity to continue her cultural education abroad in September when she begins her year as a 2018-19 U.S. Student Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Bulgaria.
